Lesson you have learned from Corporate
I will go first, it doesn't matter if you really work hard on a project, in the end only result matter, no matter how much efforts you made for it

Most of the money you earn in later part of career. The tax you pay in 10th year of career may be equal to CTC of 5th year in career.
So prioritise long term goal for lasting career.
Avoid politics.
Keep a no non-sense approach.
Your colleagues are not your friend.
Love your work and not the job, because you never know when your job will stop loving you.
Always be prepared to interview, leant this the hard way and after lakhs of potential money lost

For the love of God, don't share more than you need to about your personal life, and/or problems with your colleagues. People are shrewd and quickly pinpoint when and where to target you and use the information you give to them as leverage. I say this loud and clear : people WILL step over you for their short and long term benefits.
- a friend of many, is a friend of none.
Hey, I've heard this a couple of times but do not know how it pans out. Can you please give an example?

Back in college there was this kid who at the beginning of the session boasted about how his father earned 7+ figure income at a big firm. People would then pressurize him into paying for their meals everytime or for stationary. He'd always cave in to the pressure and end up paying even though he would be visibly uncomfortable and unwilling to pay.
A very small example, but goes to show how sharing more than you need to can introduce unwarranted mess into your daily life.

- learn to say no
- create as much dependency on yourself as possible by gatekeeping knowledge
- if you cannot convince them then confuse them ; works well in client meetings , code reviews etc (most of the time)
- never overshare personal info
Dependency and gate keeping knowledge - How? Managers insist on KTs and also it's difficult working with peers without sharing information
But without the other person's knowledge, how can we progress as a team?... i want to know like how we can gain knowledge without comming as a dick... like how to ask 🥲

Lessons:
1. You are not valued for your skillsets but for the results you achieve.
2. Ends justify the means.
3. In the first 3 years of your career, which ever technology you are in learn most of it from a practical hands on rather than theoritical overview. Whatever you learn in this period will earn your bread for rest of your life.
4. Make professional relationships at work. If you hit a rough patch with your colleagues at work don't make it personal.... Nothing matters after you swipe out.
5. Don't ever make the mistake of thinking that you are irreplaceable.. No matter how good you are.
6. First 3 years focus on learning and getting good experience rather than money.
7. If your superiors are giving you a hard time, don't go into this mode, " I'll teach them a lesson" , they have more access to organizational power , they will make your life worse. Instead focus of upskilling and switch that's the best reply you can give.
8. When you are leaving an organization try to leave on good terms with your team mates. Finish your work and make a proper knowledge transfer.
9. Find a way for your own mental well being.
This sounds good but idealistic as well. I was in same position where I had extremely poor, psycho-pathic manager doing there best ruin my career and reputation. I left with good terms and KT on my side but the line of managers just to keep their a(s) clean spread lies. I regret the I conducted myself like a good employee... Probably I should have opposite with such 3rd people around
Don’t expect fairness. People who make noise will always be rewarded more than people who work hard.

Understanding when to exit is as important as knowing when to enter a corporate company/team/role
Can you little elaborate on what points one should even notice these things
Found this on twitter
Being successful at work is being liked by everyone not how hard you work
Love/live your work but don’t obsess.
The dopamine rush increases when we know we can ace it and then real issue starts.
I was in this trap almost about 6 months.
Don’t be too obsessed with your work that you’ll forget you have own life too!!
My life has been so much better once i started realising that not able to finish "urgent" work even after pulling all-nighters is not the end of the world. They'd always push these urgent works over me coz earlier i used to drop everything and finish the work at any cost. Now i just do what i can without stressing over it.
That's the Mantra for getting work done, give it to the busiest person, he/she will do it faster and more efficiently
1. You're just an incremental employee id.
2. Never think of having relationship in your workplace. ( I have done that and still regret it, it was talking stage but that person has damaged me beyond repair)
3. Identify good skills and make friends with the people who have those skills your sutta partner can be anyone so don't bother with that.
4. Timely delivery of your work is rewarded with more work.
5. If they can pump out good work out of at your current position do you really think they will promote you? ( A gold laying hen would still be kept in their assigned cage)
6. Don't share your personal issues at office no-one cares. The day of your demise your office will send an email and replace your position in a single working day.
7. For the love of God keep separate phone numbers and put your number on dnd on weekends.
8. Learn jargon words and join the herd sometimes it's necessary to not be visible as a lone wolf, insecure management likes to Target unique individuals.
9. If you're a man then remember as long as your earning you will be respected and you're just an option as soon as a better option comes the party leaves.
10. I know many would hate me for the above items but it is what it is, learn to laugh a little life's too short use your leaves and you will never be your current age ever again. Ex; if you're turning 30 today you will never get the chance to be 29 again so kind of enjoy it.
As long as you are working under somebody, you can't really say blunt truth or be straight forward, no matter how much truth you are speaking. Everybody feels bitter with unlikable truths.
Although you should make your point, but always have to moderate the tone, if you don't wanna come under radar.
You get this freedom to call a black a black, only when you are independent and not under anybody.
