Health issues in mid 20's
Guys, I am a software engineer and work remotely. I am 25 years old but feel as if i am older. > Already facing heavy back pain, lower back pain. > Facial and body hairs are turning grey > Already bald Are these all common, or am I doing something fundamentally wrong? How's your experience working as Software Engineer. Any thoughts?

Go to the gym 4,5 times a week. Follow a regime. Change your diet. Add a lot of protein and complex carbs. Eliminate oily junk food for 3-4 months. You will start seeing the difference.
Very common nowadays
- check with physiotherapist for pain
- don't sit on chair for longer periods, even if you have best chair in the world, use smart watch for reminders
- buy a good chair
- go for the best shoes as per your capacity
- check your stress levels
- don't worry tooo much about going grey and bald

My limited point is while he is thinking software is the problem, the inherent cause may be in the hardware itself. Can't fight genetics.
If that is indeed the cause, one must live with it and focus on ensuring overall health is excellent.

Im doing WFH sonce 2019.
Started feeling backpain and fat all over my body.
Then I bought a good table for work(according to my height), bought a monitor for eye pains and sight problem. Bought a comfortable char which provides air ventilation. Going gym 3-4 times a week..
It's really not hard to follow, you just need to start.. do hair massage 1-2 per week.

Been working remotely since covid hit. I’m 25 too. Have felt the same way. Gained over 10kg in two months, severe lower back pain, severe hair fall that didn’t reduce after I got Covid and my cholesterol level got high.
Some things that are helping at the moment and changes I made in the past two years
1. Walk for 5 minutes every one hour of working
2. Find fitness activities I love
3. Eat homemade food and nutritional one at that. High protein, complex carbs, no fried food regularly. Buy an air fryer if you feel the need to. It really helped me. A LOT of vegetables.
4. I aim for 2 litres of water everyday but I end up drinking slightly lesser than that but it’s okay
5. Resistance/strength training thrice a week
6. 8 hours of sleep every night, regardless of what’s happening. If you sleep late in the night, try not to. You don’t have to be up by 6am. Even 9am works. But just don’t be like me and sleep in the day and wake up in the noon.
A friend having to get angioplasty was a wake up call for me, not even the changes I was seeing in myself. At least you’re noticing this is happening to you unlike me. You got this!

Talk to physiotherapist and get your pains checked. Concentrate on your well being. Invest some money on skin care too. Don’t blindly use stupid creams which are in general store.
Hey @thebaldking almost in a similar situation. Got severe neck and shoulder pain to the extent that trapezius muscles swells up almost every month, visited doctor and did tonnes of blood test. Vit D3 and B12 were alarmingly low as body needs sunshine to absorb these, but Bangalore weather isn't very supportive! Started with 2-3 strands of grey hair.Now i have given up on counting. Always feeling tired. I feel like i am older than my parents.
Lower back pain is directly related to your core abdominal muscles weakening. And that's due to sedentary, desk based lifestyle. As pointed out, start exercising, eating healthy and watching your sleep cycles - you'll see immediate alleviation (in a week) of your back pains once you start exercise

Not a software engineer but into HR and was seeing similar patterns for self and I'm in my 30s.
Work hygiene
- Take breaks , which includes walking while talking on calls so that your body gets a workout even when your mind is at work, you burn some calories that way
- cut off post 6 or 7 PM and get to a gym or get some sort of workout
- participate in some marathon once a month even if you just walk
- meet friends and family to keep your mental health at peace
- focus on what you can do and set some easy goals so that you feel accomplished.
By all these I'm not saying you'll suddenly become fit , but you will get there eventually.
Just my pov
Whatever you do , just take 1 hour out for workout. I would say join some online Yoga class.
Secondly, don’t eat outside food more than once a week and eat moderate portions at once. Avoid eating too much at once. Get some multivitamins and check your vit D.
If you keep these things sorted, rest will be taken care of. I am saying this because I have faced similar issues when I was preparing for GATE back in 2013. Lower back pain was so severe that I was not able to stand straight for even 10-15 mins.
Now I am fit, I am playing , completed a marathon as well.
No point compromising your health for the joy of money. You will regret it later coz you won’t be able to enjoy your money later if you are not fit.
Start with walking - 10k steps and then, move to gym or a physical sport
Cut oil, sugar and salt
Eat more protein
Do stretch after long sittings
Take supplements for vitamins if not able to cover the daily requirements
P.s.: Start skincare if you're not doing that. Face wash, moisturizer and sunscreen can do wonders. You can always add on serum and all.

Agree with a lot of advice here around lifestyle changes
For balding, do a test around iron content and thyroid. Once I realised I have a thyroid issue and took meds for it, my hairfall stopped a lot
Iron binding and ferritin etc tests are included in anemic profile, you can check on thyrocare labs app. And for thyroid generally it's t3, t4, TSH. Some specialist doctors may measure free t3,t4

Just for back pain: visit a physio. I myself had a 5 day session, simple excercise + machine, definitely worth it , and does not have any medication at all.
Diet + sleep + workout = betterment
Let your body get natural light.

Do yoga (asan, meditation, pranayam), gym is waste (just help with outer body). Yoga helps in both inner body and outer body maintaining. Helps in keeping you calm.

Everyone has suggested workouts which is the right way but please avoid fad workouts like deadlift initially as your body will not be ready for it
Have had similar issues myself around the age of 25, these are some learnings over the years:
1. Visit ortho and avoid going to physiotherapist unless suggested by the ortho. I have had wasteful sessions with physio (needling, cupping etc). These may be of help to others, but exercise has helped me better than that
2. 30 mins of exercise can improve efficiency of the hours that I work at office and keep you happy and sane through the day. I hit the gym when I'm angry/frustrated after a bad day at office. I feel reset similar to how you feel about a new day or a new year.
3. Maintaining fitness and weight is much much more easier compared to lose weight. After weight lose, don't think you can do it again easily.
4. Avoid fried food, add fiber and protein (help with hair loss). Not sure of hair graying though.
In the beginning yes, but mostly hit and trial. I did what felt good. I refrained from high impact exercising.
1. Chose swimming over running.
2. Refrained from weight training initially.
3. Core strengthening exercises helped alleviate back pain
4. Avoid complex yoga poses
All of these were only until recovery, post recovery I was able comfortably do all these,
