What are your thoughts on God / Religion?
Are you a believer? Are you religious? Why or why not? Tell me your views or personal stories related to this. I'm asking because I'm curious and not to start a flame war.
Jahan dharm hai na, wahan satya ke liye jagah nahi hai ... aur jahan satya hai truth hai, wahan dharm ki zaroorat hi nahi hai
Was never a big believer- fluctuating between atheist and believer for a bit. Had a big personal situation after which I lost all faith. Slowly realised everything happens for a reason and we have to learn to live with what we have and that others have it much worse than me. Learnt how to be grateful and started thanking God for whatever I have. Regained my faith a little and now I am a believer in a larger entity at least.
TL:DR- was on the fence, lost my faith and regained it

Thank you for sharing that. Same with me as well, I've been to and fro on this. The older I get the more I lean towards being a believer.
Can you share the incident that made you loose all faith?
Pls ignore if it is too personal or not shareable.

I got convinced early on that Religion was a man made construct. It’s extremely valuable as a tool for bringing masses of people together for a larger cause. It also has also given people a reason to commit violence without a guilty conscience historically and has shaped humanity how it is currently. So I understand why it has now become a natural truth to humans, but I don’t believe it to be real.
Whether you're theist or atheist, in both ways, you're interested in God. One seeks to prove, while the other aims to disprove.
So technically there's nothing more than a beleif!

Wut? Atheist dont try to disprove its existence they believe it doesn't exist, same goes with theist, they believe god 100% exist..
But burden of proof should be on theist because their claims are insane.

Believer - yes
Religious - yes
Forcing others to believe - big NO
I think Believing in god/higher energy keeps human ego in check. There are so many stories of people thinking they are greater than others, and destroying everything they have.
And big believer of luck too. So there must be some facilitator for sure.
I crack God jokes too. Like God laughing seeing stupid things happening in their name.

Loved that you believe as well as have a light hearted chuckle. Not everyone can do that. Respect .

From my pov. I believe there is a super power which doesn't care about us. As we are just a dot in the vast universe.
I believe there are other organisms which would have evolved like us in this universe. Probably we would meet them someday.
I believe we evolved over millions of years from Prokaryote cells to modern humans and probably self destruct in coming years 😅
The recent revelations about UFO sightings from US congress make me think that we are probably not alone in this vast universe. But unless we prove or see ourselves. It hard to believe these. But we cannot ignore them either.
If god really created us. I would ask one question. Why does god want the humans to suffer in the name of wars, famine and diseases. If the answer is to create balance why create us in the first place. What is the purpose of our existence?
So from my perspective. Actions have consequences. No karma. If someone who hurt you gets hurt. It might be mere coincidence.
God - hmmm, maybe!
But, religion = business + politics. I wouldn't wanna associate with any if given a chance.
I believe more in Karma than anything or religion of humanity. Anyway, best to focus on things within ur experience.
Believer and religious. I was born and raised a muslim. We believe everyone is born with the innate disposition to submit to God.
I've only had doubts about why some things have to be the way they are. Nobody has an answer to that, but it doesn't give me a reason to doubt my religion. I know that there is wisdom in everything our religion requires us to do. But there may be things people ascribe to the religion that aren't a part of it, and a lot of people fail to see this difference.
I used to lurk around on reddit debating people but stopped when I realized people are not really open to discussion.
If you are an Atheist then you are already spoiled.
Think about your future generation, they will be born as animals. Take some responsibility and follow your respective religion. It will give some stability in life when it is needed.

A man without a religion is like a fish without a bicycle. 😜
Religion is a definite no. God maybe cause some things are yet to be explained, so there is that area where theology can operate.
But abrahmic or any pagan religion with religious practices and after life and judgement is just plain naive.
Spinoza god is very interesting in that regard.
I personally believe that God exists, solely because there has to be someone who triggered the big bang. But that's it as far as my belief goes. I don't think our future is written or anything, we ourselves get to decide what's in it for us. Anything that's out of our hand is purely probability transforming into reality.

Popular understanding of god or religion is nothing more than a delusion.
Nobody knows how we're here or what does a creator even mean. Maybe humans just aren't smart enough to comprehend.
