what changes would you make ?

How do we exist? Are we all living in a simulation where someone managed to program a conscience into each one of us? What are your views? I like this platform because if i ask this question anywhere else I'll be trolled. Hopefully here i won't be. 🤣

How much do you think is enough? It's usually never enough for a lot of people and life is bound to throw a lot of curveballs along the way (for better or for worse), but what's the first figure that comes to your mind at which you feel "okay, if I work for X more years and amass this much money/net worth, I can comfortably hang up my boots and retire"? Additionally, how far along are you in achieving this goal? I've noticed that a common trend is that a lot of folks, for all their future planning, still don't have enough (or as much as they would like) long-term clarity about what they're working towards and how much more and was hoping this sort of discourse could help bring better awareness. P.S. - I fall in that category as well, fortunately or unfortunately.

Context- Let's say you are at a job position for 2yrs now. You have gotten bored of it. You started off with the exponential learning curve, but now, you feel even if you get linear it would be damn good. What can you do to spice things up? To have that exponential growth year after year! All this while not taking a hit on your pay? To add to the hypothesis(could be a reality for some), what would you do if you are in a non-Dev position right now like QA, testing, support, SRE/DevOps/SysAdmin?

I come from a poor background, but somehow I worked extremely hard and now I earn decently well (above 60 LPA cash). My problem is- I don’t mind spending on others. In fact I don’t even think twice before taking my card out and buying things for family or friends. I have also lent money to multiple people when they are in need of help (total close to about 2-3 lakhs). But it doesn’t bother me even a bit. I don’t even care about whether I’ll get it back or not. But, when it comes to me, I find myself struggling so much and questioning my decision to buy things even as cheap as INR 200-300. And most of the times I find myself going extra miles to save a few bucks. In fact, I also recently downgraded from a bigger to smaller apartment, because I have been doing so much maths around saving 7-8K a month. Maybe there is some part of me that feels that I don’t deserve any of this. Anyone has any idea how to fix this?
