Feeling sad and lonely

Hi guys, I just graduated and started working. My office doesn't really have an in-office work culture, so I usually go to the office once in a while. The rest of the days I work from home. I live at home, and I agree that staying with your family brings in a lot of comfort. But the place where I live is a small town. I don't have friends here, and my social life has become almost zero. I feel like I have no one to talk to, my college friends on the other hand have moved to metro cities for their jobs, living with their friends. I see them enjoying every weekend which makes me feel bad as I don't have any friends here. Even my college friends have stopped talking to me. At times, I feel very lonely and sad. I have also been seeing a therapist for a while now. Could someone please help me with any advice/suggestions. I'm in dire need of advice/ perspective and have no one to talk to.

Do not depend on anyone for your happiness. This statement is easy to type on my phone but when shit hits to roof in your head - very hard. You need to change your mindset deep within with action. Read about stoicism / do meditation and take care of your body - go gymming.

Busy yourself with some activity, bro. And don’t get too attached to others lifestyles. Go hit the gym; change something in your daily activities. If you earn enough, go on trips or shift to some Tier 2 cities for fun.

Shift to a location which resonates with your vibes. Goa if you are beachy or manali if you are into you know. Or pondicherry. Or any other place of your liking.

Dont sulk, figure out what you want and get it. For clearer mind and thinking do walks/runs/yoga. You will get some perspective. The answer lies within yourself

Something which helped me was learning some breathing techniques like Sudarshan Kriya and Meditation. It calms you down and helps you to connect with other people from different locations too. You can try an Online Meditation & Breath Workshop by Art of Living where they teach you this in a group. I have been practicing it and it helps me a lot. So, give it a try. Hey, kudos for voicing this. You’re not alone, and you have support. I’ve faced this too, I’ve been living on my own for two years now and I was initially working remotely with very few friends in the city. Wasn’t even in touch with family. Recently I moved to a PG and it used to get hell in hybrid. I moved to a flat and changed my job to a role where I get to talk more to people. Our jobs make us zombies in front of the system. We are slaves of technology. I can only ask you to move to a place with more people. Take some more effort to talk because that’s very important for fostering social bonds. And that’s the key to health. Therapists are just friends who you pay for rants. The next step is always medicine, I’ve been in therapy for two years too. Now my therapy is just Netflix and chill when I feel introverted and lots of talking when I feel extroverted and happy. Join a gym or class, it will break your inhibitions.

Get up and go to the gym. Sometimes we miss the simplest things in life. Burn all the excess energy. Lower excess energy translates to less overthinking.

Dude try a solo trip once😉. Maybe initially it will be difficult and awkward for you but at least give it a try. I am sure it will work for most people.
