GrowthX is no more a 1% club

Recently did capstone with GrowthX. While I appreciate the program design, structure etc.

Few things which are really broken and need immediate fix if they want to have the capstone product going.

  1. Quality of people is nothing close to top 1%

  2. AP and UD does not invest enough time with teams on soundboarding before the final assessment call. The mentors and OIRs are people who are good but not as much depth

  3. The resources could be made better for sure. Most people don't know basics of stuff like growth modelling and having resources around that will help save time

Maybe it could be just me who got unlucky with the team I got but even across the cohort I could see the quality not being anywhere close to top 1%.

I think it's another community led startup which is in cross hair between 'monetising more' and 'keeping the quality of people intact'.

It’s good for networking with early stage startup folks.

The curriculum is pretty basic, gives you a decent structure but nothing that can’t be self learnt through content available these days.
Most ppl don’t take that effort so such cohort based courses help with some discipline via capstone project.
Quite active slack channels for discussing and brainstorming growth problems(imo that’s the best part of growthx - some of the members are great in their discipline/industry and are helpful). You will also get help with polishing your pitch and profile on LinkedIn.
But god, their fomo marketing tactics are quite cringey.

They just make their members feel special by calling them legends who are more than happy to become mentors and OIRs and promote growthx. It’s so lame.

lol it was never a 1% club to begin with. If someone genuinely felt they were special enough to be “invited exclusively” by paying and confirming your seat, they gotta be delusional.
