Worst case u exit and start looking after 15 days mentioning 2 months notice period. Best case, another MNC waits for u that long and their notice period is <= 2 months

Best strategy:

  1. Dont join a 3 month NP company again.
  2. Disclose that you have competing offers to interviewer. Rest you can handle.

Most companies in India have 3 months notice period and I have somehow always worked in such companies đŸ˜’

On two occasions my new employer offered to buy-out a month. It seems that’s a norm for companies to make money out of exits and very common.

The new company pays my old company an amount equal to a month’s salary so that I can reduce my notice period by a month.

In India, all companies have a 3 month notice period, so there's no way around it. You have to negotiate after putting down your papers, your rapport with your manager and leadership matters, as well as whether the new company will buy you out.
