Humongous school fees 🤯

One of my team member said that he is paying ~2L per year as the fees for his child who's in 4th standard now, in Bengaluru.

It's a CBSE school and is based out of Bengaluru. He pays additional for uniform, books, transport, etc.

They also kind of want a well educated mom, but she shouldn't be working as there needs to be someone to take care of the children all the time.

Although I studied in an private engineering college (but one of the best in the state), it costed only around ~2,50,000 for everything across 4 years (2021 grad)

What the hell are they teaching over there? 💁🏻‍♂️

He also shared a few instances where parents are paying almost 6-10 lakhs for class 11 & 12 (coaching oriented). And then, of some who are paying ~25 Lakhs for B.Tech admission.

I don't know where the world is going 🤯

I would like to understand the opinions of those who are reading this.

Most of school pays very low salary like 5k per month to the teachers. That's why they are unable to get good teachers. If you want good teachers then you need to pay more which increases tution fee.

I kind of agree to this perspective, but they still doesn't pay good.

This is very true but 2L a month is still extremely high

Dude! My son is in 3rd standard, 4L rupees is the fee. I graduated from one of Central governments engineering collage, paid like 50 k for entire course.

🤯

Do you think that it's worth giving 4L?

(Engineering course fees are pretty much less at govt Colleges, ~ 30k for 4 years without aids. I added my fees because it was a private, yet one of the top college)

There are schools who, on paper, show high pay for teachers. But the teachers are made to pay back in cash.

The education system is being misused and is costing this country dearly.

Education fee, school activity monitoring must be taken up my state education minister

I'm paying 2.5L for my daughter going to Montessori 3, transport fee of 30K additional. It's one of a decent school in Bangalore. They don't bring any conditions like the one mentioned above.
BTW, My ex boss used to pay 7L PA for one of his two children studying 6th in a posh school!

Makes sense to send you kids to schools where other rich people also send their kids and get them a decent network.

That's how ananya pandey made her career. Become good friends with Shah Rukh's daughter.

Exactly, I spoke to a friend at ED-Tech. He said due to rising costs of private schools, edtech is penetrating this market by offering school courses at 1/10 th the cost. Yet, people are ready to pay premium for these schools because of “ overall development”

Study is just 25% of the reason for a good school. Not a whole lot in expensive schools.

A good solution is to ask them point blank why so high fees. You might get your answer.

The other way to see is, there are cars from 5L to 5 cr. There are bicycles worth 5k to 2L and above.
Education is now a business, and a good one at that

School fees in Bangalore

I was talking to a colleague at office and got shocked to hear that he is paying around 5 lakhs per annum for his 4 year old kid who just goes to a play school.

Looks like there has been major inflation in education and I've been out o...
