I have seen hiring manager that they ask for one question always. Why did you switch many jobs and also why do you want to switch now?
Do we really think managers are unaware to covid, recession and job market?

I think it's a fair question to ask. They wanna gauge the reason for the decision. It can be literally any reason(as long as it's not money). The reason is, money is obvious. What people are looking for is, whether the person wants to work bcoz they want more than money or not?
