Infosys notice period
Hi everyone, what is the notice period during probation in Infosys. And do we need to pay certain amount to get released?? Please help me
Hi, I am currently working with Infosys. I have been here since 2021. I am planning to switch now, and I want to negotiate my notice period. Would I get an experience letter if I negotiated the notice period or if the other company bought out my notice period? Please guide me on this.
In your resignation from Infosys concerning the notice period management, you should always keep in mind the role your experience letter will play. In general, an Infosys experience letter is issued by Infosys to every employee who leaves the organisation whether or not he/she has worked for the entire notice period, or has been released from the duties before the notice period.
If you alter your notice period or if the organisation you are joining buys out your notice period, you will still be eligible for an experience letter. The experience letter will usually consist of:
The dates of your joining and last working day will be clearly stated, establishing a proper record of your period of service.
A brief overview of your job duties and job titles during your employment in the company.
Describe in detail your position and the department you worked in.
Every employee can have their own reasons for leaving a company. Mostly, a person leaves a reputed company like Infosys when they get a better opportunity at another reputed company. However, sometimes there can be personal reasons. In any case, you have to serve a notice period, once you’ve submitted your official resignation. The notice period varies from one company to another. At Infosys, the notice period is usually three months, if you’re a full-time employee. Since you’ve worked quite a long time and you need an early release, you can negotiate your notice period. Once you’ve completed all your work till the last working day as negotiated, you will get an Infosys experience letter along with your relieving letter.
During my time at Infosys since 2021, I learned a lot, but recently I decided to explore new opportunities. When I received an offer from another company, I was concerned about the notice period. I wasn’t sure if I would still get my Infosys experience letter if I shortened the notice period or if it was bought by the new employer. After speaking with HR, I was assured that as long as the notice period responsibilities were settled—either through negotiation or buyout—there would be no issues in receiving the Infosys experience letter. This gave me the confidence to move forward with my career switch without worrying about records for positions in the future.
After two fulfilling years at Infosys, I was faced with the challenging decision to switch jobs. I was thinking about increasing my notice period, and that was a big concern. Thankfully, I reached out to my mentor, who provided invaluable guidance. He explained that if I negotiated my notice period or if the new company bought it out, I would still receive my Infosys experience letter, confirming my time and contributions. It was a relief to know that I could pursue new opportunities without putting my future references at risk. Overall, my experience with Infosys has been positive, and I appreciate their support as I changeover to the next phase of my career.
