SDETs might be let go (leadership says they're providing an opportunity to convert to SDE. But they're conducting a full blown interview). My manager said the year end discussions were very tough. So i won't be surprised if they PIP out a lot of people.

Week back there were posts by linkedin engineers that linkedin is hiring SDEs and anyone can as referral and today they laid off 700 people.

It makes sense for company to layoff overpaid employees & hire similar skilled employee at lower salary.. Isn't it?

Is there any one from Paytm , who can confirm if there’s a silent layoff happening there. I have an offer as SSE , but have heard from multiple people that work culture is detoriating very fast and almost 20% are undergoing PIP.
