Leave policies
Hey I have worked in 2 startups in my careers, In both places leave policies aren't that great. Just wanted to know what are policies in other workplaces
I am interviewing with an early stage startup in Gurgaon. As part of their leave policy, they offer only annual leaves which you earn at a certain rate every month. They do not offer any sick leaves or casual leaves to employees. Is that even legal? Have you heard of similar policies elsewhere?

As a startup owner, the government only mandates us to give around 22 days off per year. All the other leaves are strictly upto the company. The 22 days off are official holidays.
This is even followed in MNCs. I think this is the way how it works
I remember working in a small startup (<30 emps) that had a leave policy, but rarely enforced. You could just take a sick/casual leave as your desire, by telling your manager..
Might sound good, but since 'your leaves' were not tracked, i.e. how much you have available, it just meant people took less of them so...

I wanted to understand what is the standard leave policy. How many sick leaves, annual leaves etc are given.
Folks, seems that a lot of IT companies will soon decide how many leaves to give based on location / state - so the lucky chaps in Noida (UP) will get 40 days of leaves (in addition to fixed holidays) and the unlucky folks in Mumbai will...
