During a visit to a hospital today, while I was waiting for the appointment, I saw a woman sitting on the chair sobbing(she would have been the age of my mother). There was no family member around her. People sitting opposite were either busy on their phones or just watching. I am not sure what triggered in me to go and sit next to her.
Now comes the dilemma if I should ask what happened but, instead I just held her hand. She looked at me, shocked but didn’t utter a word. She tightened the grip, but slowly started to ease. I could relate to that silence without saying a word. With that, her crying stopped. In that moment, I knew she was comforted. I thanked god for that :) And then I was called for the visit. Before leaving I just said, whatever it is, stay strong and you will get through this and went ahead :)
