Rant:What is up with hiring market for product!!! It's way worse than developers. I know that a general comparison scenario but past few months it's gone super downhill.
Me and my friends aren't even getting shortlisted for an interview.LinkedIn isn't working, direct referrals isn't working. After multiple rounds they just decide to go the other way. And this is happening with experienced talent. What the hell is happening!
Adding to this thread. Just got rejected by a seed stage startup after 4 good rounds because they found someone better (2.5 YOE). Supply demand is skewed crazy. Humbling times
For the first time, Product looks like a variable expense. Thinking of moving back to Data now.
I heard from a friend in product that there are lots of bigger fishes in product market. Even for a senior level position there's a tough competition
When there is a lot of supply, every one tends to get choosy. Companies which normally would have 1-2 rounds would be taking 3-4 rounds just because they can. Even mediocre companies are getting talent from top tier product companies & tier 1 colleges. It’s crazy out there tbh at this point.
Everyone is in a wait and watch mode.
