Should I stay in old company or accept new offer

My previous company is matching my new offer of about 75% increase. So what should I do should I stay at my previous company or move to new company

Old company - pros - product based, good coworkers and decent boss Cons- ass hr and founders - 11-8 time + no overtime pay+ tracker in pc+ no laptop

New company - pros - wfh, good founder Cons - service based, shit manager, all load on me, can call wfo so relocation.

Thing is that old company might retain me for the time being then relieve me when they find a better replacement.

Stay in the same one. Take the hike. Then apply again for others one in 2 months. There is no loyalty game here.

Better to stay in the same company. Trust me a good manager and good team is what all matters. And like you told you can negotiate the same offer in this firm.

Your situation is quite complex. Advices are subjective. Moving to a PBC to SBC is a demotion. There are various reasons to it.

  • When looking for new jobs. New firms prefer candidates from PBC.

  • Your work environment depends on your clients. If clients are shit then you are screwed.

  • There is less creativity, autonomy in SBC. You decisions can be overriden easily.

  • There is less perks and benefits.

  • Salary hikes will be very slow.

  • No flexible timings.

Saying this because I'm from a SBC and I have experienced it all. And you must already know the benefits of a PBC. If you are looking for a change of environment go for the new firm else if salary was the issue, I think that is sorted in your current firm.

Yes tbh salary is the main issue, other things can be dealt with. I was thinking to stay in sbc about a year then move again. Thanks for the advice!

Stay in old for a while and keep a lookout on offer. With already 75% increase you can negotiate more with new company

Stay with the old company if they are able to match the pay. No point of switching to a service based company if you are already working in a product based one.

It's your call product base offer more hikes than service based. Even you can show this offer to current hr. There is still the chance of matching your pay. My suggestion is to keep that offer and try other offers with your current location and switch any of the cases whether you get or not so that you will come across different kind of boss, coworkers and working environment and you will learn new things from the new company. And you will also get the chance to work on new domains and technologies

Should I switch if I really like my current org?

I joined my current org right out of college and have been working here for 2+ years. I really like the company’s culture, openness while pay is also great as per my standards and needs.

I recently interviewed for a startup casually and...
