Should I switch if I really like my current org?
I joined my current org right out of college and have been working here for 2+ years. I really like the company’s culture, openness while pay is also great as per my standards and needs.
I recently interviewed for a startup casually and got an offer as well. Now I’m in a dilemma whether I should join the new org or stay although the pay jump looks pretty decent to me.
P.S. Not a brag post but genuinely looking for answers as I’m really out of touch with the industry and given the current recession, can’t really make up my mind.
Current TC.- 20 Offered - 26 + variable
6+ variable will make l**** material difference to your life. Literally 30-40k more per month. Not only is that not worth losing a workplace you like (trust me it's SUPER rare, I've had 1/7 in 11 years that I kinda liked). Secondly when you switch at 20lpa the game is to crack 30-35lpa. 26 is a chance wasted. Hold out - do better work, make the next champu give you 30+
Mental peace over money.
No
May I know your perspective? Monetary wise it kinda looks like a good package for me but I’m just not sure about the culture I’m startup’s as I’ve never worked in one. Should one take a leap of faith here maybe?
Bro sooner or later you’ll reach to the peaks of the TC u want… Then you’ll look for good team and culture. You already have a good package and you’re saying culture is good. I don’t see a reason for changing in this unprecedented time. If it were 2022, I would tell u to switch. Currently what you need more than anything is peace of mind, trust me on that. If you’re up for creating challenges for yourself then go ahead.
One more thing that I forgot to mention is the startup is a permanently remote work place although I’ve been working remote in my current org as well. But there is a chance, they might ask us to come in future I guess. So, that’s something as well
If everything is good, don't switch.
Not worth switching
Don’t switch
Not worth switching at all
Should switch. 6+variable is like a 30% jump in tc
