Smoking affects my life

I'm struggling with back pain, headache (of I don't get proper sleep) and lack of energy. I used to smoke 8-10 cigarettes daily in my 20s and daily long hours desk job with all three meals outside. Now I can't sit for more than 2 hrs at stretch and if I don't get 8 hrs of sleep, I just can't function the next day - like a Zombie with red eyes. I feel on my good days also I have 50% energy compared to 5-6 years back. I have joined a gym a few months back - doing 3-4 sessions weekly and on complete home food diet. Things are a bit better now. Anyone facing the same?

I have been smoking for more than 10 years, now wanna quit it. i usually smoke 3 cigarettes a day, occasionally exceed it like on weekends but try to keep it in limit but now want to completely quit it. Tried nicotine gums but did not like it and puke many times. Can anyone help me please? share their journey?

Let me start by listing mine 1. Get into shape 💪 - I’ve set a target weight for myself, and a target muscle mass and body fat percentage 2. One book a month 📕 - This is something I’ve tried over and over but never seemed to achieve. 3. Delve deeper into devops 🔄 4. Complete a few side projects I’ve had in my backlog for months 5. Quit smoking 🚭 What are yours?

I have observed many freshers joining seniors during smoking break for “networking”. is this a common thing and does it help in getting promos? I don’t smoke but will consider it if there’s a benefit for my career.

These past 6 months my performance at work has been dwindling and one primary reason I attribute is memory loss. I find it difficult to recall key points of mails, design reviews, MoMs etc. and often end up missing out things at assigned tasks. What's scarier is that it not only applies to new concepts, I often find myself forgetting even formerly familiar things. During morning updates and discussions I find myself giving uncertain inputs and asking shaky questions because I find it hard to remember key terms, figures etc. I sometimes even forget to pick up some assigned tasks altogether. Random brain freezes have become everyday affair. . Sleep-wise it has been little medium-poor but not so bad that could explain such drastic changes. I'm 30 yr old, male, unmarried and don't have any major health issues (except some stress / anxiety and accompanying Irritable Bowel Syndrome condition). . If anyone else experienced this, how have you dealt with it?

Smoking due to work related stress .

Looking for tips to quit smoking. I've tried a lot, I tend to stop smoking for a few days but then again I end up starting it :( If anyone has successfully quit smoking, I'd like to know their process

I never really understood this. What makes you enjoy smoking? Not trying to judge, just trying to understand your perspective. I know that you know it’s bad.
