Is this end near for BLR?

I am a fresher 2023 graduate and have been doing this (applying for jobs) for almost a year, everyone said you have to do internships as it is necessary so did 2 internships one for a year and another for 6 months but apparently no one counts internships as experience even jobs that had 1-3 yoe as requirement and now everyone's hiring 2024 grads as freshers (I tried to look for another internship but there were none during the time of placements). I am now tired of this field, many full stack devs don't know shit outside Javascript world and many of them can't even use tools like git properly and are so cocky of themselves. Saw an SDE on twitter who apparently has 6 years of experience, doesn't even know how to configure multiple SSH and says managing multiple ssh is a downside. A women dev (cause in India you have engineers and female engineers apparently) doesn't know about sidebar cache and calls it a bug and she's in google. and If I try to roast these people with my real name there's a whole cabal of Banglorians who will grab their macbooks inside third wave coffee and start tweeting against me after aggressively drinking their Chocolate mocha frappe. Just go into any random tech twitter space no one seems to be talking about tech it's always about DSA, interviews, LIFE IN BANGLORE, which cafe they visited. I let myself believe tech was my passion and worked hard for but Indian techies and companies are worst, this generation thinks they are better than their predecessor but follow the same politics everywhere even when it comes to Tech communities (who tf does politics in a community that produces open source code wtf). They talk about networking and creating a community all the time but can't even respond to linkedin cold dm and blame the sender by nitpicking about the format 👏👏 and then they'll go on post the screenshot and rant how it's the sender fault to even try to network with them with a message that isn't written from their own blood.

Hello, I have 5yoe at big4, currently working from my hometown. However recently I received an offer for a product company (pre-sales) which needs me to relocate to Bangalore. The hike is good 45% but considering the CoL I might just be saving 10-15k more per month than I do now. So, my question is, is it worth joining the product firm and relocate?

Came to Bangalore to join an in-office role, the org and role is good. But coming from Gurgaon, I was not able to like the city. Some cons: - Extremely poor infrastructure like a tier 2 city - Every govt official is corrupt, police can harass you anywhere - You neither feel homely nor is there any vibe of a cosmopolitan city. Local politics will not let this city become a cosmopolitan startup hub. Gurgaon is so so much better. - Everyone just wants to loot money, everything is expensive. Rent is high, landlord deducting 1 month extra rent, unnecessarily high security amount, cook and maid everything is so effin’ expensive - Alcohol is expensive. - Good food is expensive The value of money is lesser here as compared to the rest of the country. I have a flight tonight and I am so happy that it’s a one way flight. I don’t mean to offend anyone, but bangalore can be very lonely and it has been so for many of my friends. Particularly ease of life is much higher in NCR and that’s why a lot of people move back. Those who feel otherwise haven’t lived in NCR so Bangalore is more of just a bubble for them. Adios!

I recently got an offer and am planning to move to Gurgaon. I was trying to find an opportunity in Bangalore because I love this place, or maybe it’s just change I detest. But nothing worked out and here I am. Has anyone made the same move? Or maybe vice versa? Which place do you think is better and why?

Waste fcks. Look I am someone who wouldn't do this shaming of our cities, we are quite secure about BLR and don't really care what happens elsewhere. However your city folk stink when in Bangalore. So enjoy their gifts coming home. And have some shame

I am currently in process of sourcing reports doing location study for GCC, R&D and ITS setup for foreign clients. Till now, this language imposition issue was discussed in corridors and never included in official reports when discussing location strategy. But its changing now and situation will only deteriorate from here if there are any more language riot or hooliganism. Other state govt officials now openly quote such news to foreign company leaders and why shouldn’t they as it’s competition to get more business and jobs and your competition is making self goals.

(Disclaimer: My ADHD brain can not be trusted at times. Apologies if the below sounds like brain fart) Now, I think Bangalore is being defamed and shown as a crisis because the North Indian Real estate lobby wants to push folks away from investing in Bangalore and rather invest in the NCR region. Bangalore has lower ready to move in inventory whereas NCR is filled with projects but no buyers (this is hearsay, I don’t have data). Everyone , irrespective of their hometown wants to buy in Bangalore but that is not the case with NCR. With Mr Adani investing close to a billion in NCR region , they want to push buyers away from Bangalore and into NCR. Any thoughts?

On a recent episode of Nikhil Kamath, he says “Bangalore is famous for nice and welcoming people”. This is so very true to a large extent. Every city however has some outliers who tarnish the image by going extreme. I have seen a lot of posts on GrapeVine complaining about Bangalore and their people. People should understand that every native resident of a city carries a profound sense of connection and endeavours to uphold the cultural heritage of their hometown. And what better way to preserve heritage than to safeguard language ? This is the reason I believe most non Hindi speaking cities try to impose their language on outsiders. All said and done, I feel language should never be imposed but at the same time it shouldn’t be ridiculed either. I’ve seen a lot of “Kannada” hate post and is disheartening to see it. And lastly I appologize to all those who have had negative experiences due to a few troublemakers. TL;DR : Bangalore is a lovely city with warm and welcoming people.

I am planning to settle down in one particular city in the next 3 to 5 years. I am currently evaluating Bangalore, Hyderabad and Pune. From long term perspective ( for next 20 to 30 years) Which city will offer better job prospects ( IT/Software Development/Product Management/Strategy related jobs) along with a decent life style supported by satisfactory amenities like Gated housing options which are not super expensive, Good schooling options for kids, Decent commuting facilities like Metro, wide roads etc. Interested to hear feedback from folks who went through or going through this dilemma.
