Sad truth 🙁
Are you kidding me 😂😂😂
India has much bigger scope for cricket than America. I’d know, as I’ve played in the district level. As for a good engineer, you don’t need to be in the US you can learn for anywhere. Opportunity and compensation wise, probably America.

Would he reach the national team in India?
What are the odds?

As for a good engineer, the work environment and projects he's getting in the US are far superior to what he would be getting in India.

What's good is he gets to wfh and the company is supportive of his playing career alongside his swe, the same oracle might not do this in india
Agre. There are quite a few talented ones who never got a chance beyond Ranji or IPL. Problem of plenty, power, influence all exist . So why not play in US which is ready to promote the sport while giving a great sports infra and a better work life balance.

No real engineering happens in India
Real cricketing does happen but I doubt he’d be good enough for it

He played in a domestic game for Bombay. That was his level, and while he improved that, it’s not like at his current level he would get into indian team.
I am not sure how this is an indictment of the Indian cricket system. Calling it a sad truth is sure an indictment of something but not India related. I do not get what difference going to USA would have made to his cricketing skills. Playing against/with more talented players makes everyone a better player (so would have been better off in India). Your post + sc tweet seems to imply otherwise.

I don’t think he became a goof cricket. He couldn’t survive in India’s competitive world. And had to go there.
I am not disrespecting or anything. He definitely has skills just not good enough for our standards
He had great scores against best international players and you undermine his capability
I am not undermining him or anything buddy.
All I am saying is there are better players than him in India.
Such a dumb post. It's like saying that a table tennis player of Chinese origin Kou Lei playing at national level for Ukraine would not have become a good player if he were in China. Damn, the bar is very high for table tennis in China.
Aise to Africa chala jata. Zimbabwe or Kenya main he could be captain also and an all time legend. Yeh kaisa comparison hai?

And standard of living?
You cannot deny he got best of both worlds which was difficult to get in India
He's definitely not average. He has 2 patents on his name. If you don't believe it check his Aria profile. Less than 1% of Oracle employee have patents filed for their innovation at Oracle.
