Stop hating people who succeed
Recently being seen a bunch of people here taking a dig on people with high salaries. This is so counter productive. Rather than trying to learn from people who’ve been able to get a head start and getting it for yourself why are you resorting to hating on them? This is what is the difference between India and the west. The west is so fu##in capitalistic that people just understand and respect those that have money and everyone else is working hard to make it too. Don’t hate the race. Don’t hate the winners. Congratulations for the highest package on earth.
It's stupid race. Let me give you a broader perspective on why a decently paid individual can make it up with consistency within 10 years.
The inflated package you got will also result in
Increased risk of layoff
Increased rent based on location
Increased additional expenses
Increased health problems because of stress
Decreased family time
Confusion in priorities
Since you got money early in life, congrats but what on earth will you buy once you have it all?
By 50 you'll be left with minimum wishes you can wish for.
These are just a few of the common things...
No hate but everyone should work on their pace once they get a decent salary.
You make good points. More money is going to create higher rates across and lead to trouble. I understand.
But I am not young - I am 30+ and my salary is kinda decent for my age as it should be for 9 years of work ex. I am not one of the young - crazy high package early career guys. My point was just to not hate each other. And to not rant out.

Why the f do people glorify movie stars, founders and sportmen. They are just like your average Joe who just had better luck of the draw.
Your intelligence does not equate the amount of money you will end up making, dumb brain-dead fucks on YouTube make more then most of us will make in our lifetime.
Don't hate or compare whether you winning or losing.

The reason behind this post was just to mention this.
I'm 31, I doubled my package over last year and half. One thing I am sure of is that I don't deserve this salary. Someone is stupid enough to pay me this. Indeed I do hell lot of impactful work, but no shame in accepting I'm kind of overpaid. Admit that few things are gone very wrong over past few years. I am not yet fired, probably won't be. But the recent layoff etc are reason behind this overpayment.

How much is your CTC that you think you're getting overpaid?
Used to get 44 lpa fixed. With my skill, education & impact - it was less. Applied with a hope of 30% hike. Got >90% hike in fixed & more benefits. I think I deserve around 60-65 fixed. New organisation need my exact skill desperately, I think that's the justification

I am about join my first job soon but I also don't get this. Wouldn't you want to try to make as much instead of trying to make other people feel shitty.

You should also realise this causes people to have false expectations for themselves, and from world. I had a friend who became suicidal after not being able to Crack JEE 2 times. It was really hard for me and his family to convince him to join a private college and move on. All this happened because people like you flex your salaries and create a microcosm that you need to earn X amount of money to be successful.
As pointed out by others, even stupid teenagers shaking their Butts in front of cameras are earning more than a skilled blue collar guy.
Life is unfair and, if you post something on a public forum, you better have thick skin to get trolled as well.

Almost all success/salary posts here are posted to farm likes and there's no learning shared.

Everybody thinks they are really rich and made it until they see someone with a watch or car that is equal to their entire career's income. Those who boast about having a high salary and seek validation in this anonymous platform, let that sink in.

It's not about hating people who succeed. The hate is more towards a system that the haters and mostly 90% of everyone else have been left behind by.
I'm not dunking on you but the fact is all the bumped up salaries are because of easy money printing in the West (I'm also a part of this, don't get me wrong). All these VCs din't know where to put all the money so they come here, spin stories about national growth, and pump money.
But this goes only from the elite in the West to very qualified folk here who make up barely 10% of the working population.
The unwinding of this baseless optimistic easy money pumping is now showing in the economic downturn.
People are increasingly becoming skeptical about this infinite growth that lifts all boats. And when someone comes and effectively says they're thriving in a world where most people are not through no fault of their own, then yes they will get that reaction.

You don't understand the issue is not with them saying thier salary.
The issue is with the stymied mindset when they say things like
1. I have only 6 yrs experience and ear 60L i am feeling bad that I don't get paid what I deserve
2. I have 2 yrs experience and paid 40L am i underpaid, and other chiming in saying you are terribly underpaid leave the job immediately
3. I am earning 40L but my classmate in other company earns 60L. I have three years experience tell me what can I do.
4. I have 2 yrs experience and doubled my salary to 50L all your 20 yr experienced guys AMA. I wil help you.
Etx it's this type of tones that people hate.

Actually seeing more than the fair share of DHOTYAs here, lately. You might be another one.
It's easier to hate than to actually put in the effort to get there bro.
People will always choose the route that makes them feel good.
Also most folks who say money doesn't matter already have made tons.
There is no hate for people with high salaries. I think the hate comments comes when seeing posts like.. "i am earning 75 lacs.. , am i underpaid .?"
You must be fun at parties, telling everyone how much more you make than them and how they can learn from you.
