Indians wholeheartedly hate people who make money

I’ve always had this question on why Indians are very stingy when it comes to paying money for premium products. I agree there are Indians especially in the young generation who aren’t shy from spending for quality products but the masses are still stuck in the bargaining or cheap mindset. When we look for cars the first thing we probably check is kitna mileage dega ? When we look at a premium product we compare it to a copy or a product that does not offer the same quality or service that a premium product offers. What are the reasons to it and when or how can we come out of it. This is one of the reasons we have got the “slave / miser ” label outside our county and why we’ve got weak passports which make it difficult to take a vacation like citizens of other countries .

I see a lot of folks opening their calendar and offering resume review and career guidance and other things via Topmate. Some are charging like 6000 per hour. And posting that as if they are making some contribution to the community. They are keeping posts as that is their way of giving back to the community as if it's some sort of charity. How the hell is giving back to the community when you are charging 6000 per hour ?? I dont have a problem with people who keep it openly as its a way to earn some money. You are giving your time so asking money for it is not at all wrong in my book But please dont label it as charity for god sake 🙏🙏

Whenever I read foreign media outlets, India is the new Asian Tiger that will outpace most emerging economies in growth. But Indian media and Indian people act like India is the worst place to be. The dichotomy is extremely confusing. Why is it that foreign media coverage on our economy is more favourable than our own hopes and aspirations from this country? PS: I am really big on Indian Exceptionalism, the belief that India's economic development and trajectory are unique or exceptional compared to other nations, driven by our large and diverse population, thriving middle class, our entrepreneurial spirit, and the emphasis on technology and innovation. Not an Anti India or Indian hating post but I work in sales and I’ve discovered that Indians act so entitled as if they’re some high and mighty royals who have transcended from heavens above when interacting with anyone who’s calling them after they themselves requesting for it. Half the times these dumb clowns can’t even articulate 2 sentences together in English and struggle to understand what you try and tell them but act like they know it all. We’ve got to clean up our act as customers and human beings before we make a bigger mockery of ourselves than what’s already out there. No wonder we’re categorised as the cheap hooligan crowd outside.

Recently being seen a bunch of people here taking a dig on people with high salaries. This is so counter productive. Rather than trying to learn from people who’ve been able to get a head start and getting it for yourself why are you resorting to hating on them? This is what is the difference between India and the west. The west is so fu##in capitalistic that people just understand and respect those that have money and everyone else is working hard to make it too. Don’t hate the race. Don’t hate the winners. We can all win. Help each other. My salary is also high so whatever…

I have many friends who are into IT and Tech(read again Tech not IT). Whenever I am speaking to the IT folks and understand their aspirations I always find that they have this strange thing mentioned every now and then i.e. Going to the Clients location(all overseas) for a couple of months and coming back or extending for a longer duration say a few years and purchasing a house/flat back in India. I don't understand how going to the client's location(even if it's on Mars) and earning $$$ can be life's ultimate goal. What am I missing here? I am not able to understand since I have always believed that life's ultimate goal would be always bigger for people(achievable/non achievable are different things). Does working in IT make people so myopic that they are destined to think in the straight line process and wait for that token(at least what I have heard is that it's some weird selection they do to select and send you abroad on the projects). May be this thought process makes most of the crowd stick to the systems for years and decades at work. Is it considered that bigger of an achievement OR Is it a way to make people stick around for longer duration ? What am I missing here ? How can life goals be so small ?

I am fed up here as I don't see accountability anywhere. There was a Telugu Movie starring Mahesh Babu where he being CM says, in foreign, people are responsible and accountable and they made their lives beautiful. How amazing, right? I truly resonate with that thought We lack accountability in everything we do. - if something goes right, it's us, if wrong, it's them! - We don't hold our govt politicians on their promises, on delivering things of value - Companies go on screwing us, we don't give a damn. Refunds are processed without timelines, cases in country are backlogged for years and years - We cannot even keep our cities clean, our air pure and our water drinkable and we are least bothered by it - We cannot maintain our own infrastructure like Buses, railways, trains. We fucking are stealing mugs from railway toilets due to which it's chained (wtf!) We don't want responsibility and no one should question us. How are we really supposed to grow? Stringent laws in place helps with accountability of companies who at all times think how can I squeeze more money from people and screw them Accountability keeps everyone in check. Change my view!

The US is in its late stage capitalist phase, a ship that's going to sink for the next 50 years. If you're a young person there it doesn't make sense to work as hard as your Grandpa the reward on average isn't as great. India on the other hand is poised to become a great multi-trillion $ economy. Onto something huge. We're talking like 10x growth of the economy here. Start-ups that have made it like Razorpay, Swiggy, PayTM, even Cred, if they survive will be really huge as capital in the country, liquidity and lifestyles go up over the next 50 years. Be the capitalist, take the risks, make bets, work and stack up promotions and money. Don't join an Infosys and work 70 hours there, do it for a start up of any scale you believe is going to make it. Or better yet start your own.
