If you were my husband, & I say I don't want to work. How do you respond?

So i’ve been Noticing her for 1.5 months now.. she notices back like hell.. she is Indian from south.. im from NCR ..working in HYD.. she’s kinda cute.. spiritual, all Green flags.. but i don’t want to take risk as she is senior 1 year.. one wrong step can ruin things.. now I’m trying to not think about her.. but she’s stuck in my mind like nothing else.. seeking help.. any suggestions to get out of this !!

Basically some of my work friends and I went to Thailand. We had a gala time there and explored a ton of places. All of us stayed at this really nice hotel which had a beautiful swimming pool. We went swimming there quite a few times. So, I have a DailyObjects bag that I got for free on my purchase. I use this primarily for carrying towel, undergarments, swimsuit, sunscreen etc. Another colleague of mine has the same bag with the same colour. He accidentally took my bag and I took his. I got to realise this when I opened the bag and saw swimming trunks and a book. I called to tell him about it and it was too late. His wife picked up the phone and enquired about why I had placed my undergarments in her husband's bag. I clarified that it is just a mistake and that we accidentally swapped our bags but she was not budging. So I hung up after getting scared. She has called me 5-6 times in the last week but I am too scared. What should I even do? Whenever I try to explain the situation she starts screaming at me again. It was a simple mistake but this woman is overreacting and my colleague also agrees. She's completely psycho and thinks that I am trying to steal her husband.

I understand that most of the tech community is men, and probably in this community as well. But some of y'all just make me lose hope, in seeing how pathetic your thought processes are. Women don't need to work cause India's GDP doesn't demand so? Excuse me? Have you heard of financial independence. Some of us want that. The next thing is diversity hiring. Diversity hiring is needed because of regressive thought processes like these that discourage and inhibit the progress of women in the workplace. Women in general, have to go through a lot more in comparison to men in life. Consider an example: You are a guy going to university, you mom does everything for you, you have enough time to study and do everything you want, go out with friends. Now another girl in your class might be expected to do housework, along with studies. If she doesn't score well she is threatened to be married off. As a result she only has so much time to study and not do extra curricular activities, while the guy can do all of that just because of the privilege of being male. This is why the bar of entry is lowered, so that women who are struggling in life, fighting their way through these odds can progess in life. Even if women who don't have these situations benefit, even if it benefits one person, makes their life better. How does it even bother you? Instead you want to make thier lives hell by shitting on them as diversity hire. Please learn empathy. Learn to respect and understand the struggles of others, regardless of their gender. Also acknowledge that as a male you have more privileges than women, because we are in a patriarchal society, which is why women need a helping hand sometimes.

Is it just me or is even a job at the best Tech companies just don’t make any sense for women? There are always women who have great family support or husbands that are understanding and encouraging. But generally why does it seem like becoming a senior woman in tech even at the best places is sort of unattractive and significantly increases your odds of “failure” outside of work e.g. divorce,having kids late? Interested for thoughts from both men and women.

We all have certain dreams and aspirations. People work hard in order to achieve their dreams. But there’s often a dream of yours that you know , how hard you try , is not going to come true. Reasons can be plenty and does not matter. I’ll go first My dream is to spend my 30s living in the country side of Japan and enjoy the peaceful life there. But I know with all the responsibilities that I have , this is never gonna become a reality 🤭

Just want to understand if it’s manageable when both are working. Like given the current cost of things in tier 2+ cities and uncertain employment scenes… I can’t imagine a household going well enough without both earning. If you’re such a couple, can you share some thought? I would also imagine at some point ur job companies may be in different cities ?

I dont care about money above a certain amount, i dont care about power. I just want my newfound family and my stability. To live a happy life surrounded by my loved ones. I feel as if its not a bad dream to have.
