Exactly. Say that your current company is not accepting your resignation or something. And that you can’t do anything about it. And then stop all communication. Join where ever you like

Hi all, 

I received an offer from a company and signed an offer letter which stated that I have to pay them waiting period money if I'm not joining them. Now I've got a better offer from another organisation. Will there be any legal repercussions if I don't join them. I feel bad they have actually waited for me for 3 months but the company is very small and scared of job security. So this is the first time that I am leaving a job because I have an offer in hand.

The offer letter has a joining 2 months from now because my current notice period is 2 months.

I am worried that if I sign it now and then go resign, my current company might create issues and say that due to some delay or something, my last working day will be a bit later than exactly 2 months and I won't be able to join the new company on the agreed upon date.

But I also don't want to resign before I have signed the new offer, so that the new offer is confirmed.

Do you have any advice for me?

This could be a rookie question, but what exactly are the implications of accepting the official offer letter and then not joining the company? Any legal issues can come? 

If not, then what's the point of all those formalities- these guys even capture the IP address, signature etc when the offer is accepted.

I recently received a counter offer from one of the big 4 company.. I had initially decided not to join. I am reconsidering my decision and would appreciate your advice on the potential consequences. 
Specifically, I am concerned about the risk of being blacklisted or facing negative if I choose not to join the company even after accepting their counter offer.

Companies arent looking forward to hire me if I say I have 3 months notice period. If say I have 10-30 days of notice period, and if I do land a opportunity, how can I join the newer company on immediate basis without serving 3 motnhs. Buyout option is by having to pay the equivalent of 3 months, which goes beyond 200k. I am not willing to pay a company this much amount, given I only earned 300k from them. Should I first apply for notice period and then start interviewing or first land an opporutnity and then apply for notice period.

Hey all, How are you ?
Well I am not fine, I am devastated and have no idea what to do with my life now. As I can't see any way out of this mess where I am right now.
I finally got an offer from a company where I have to join in 1 month but my current company is not allowing me to leave before serving the notice period of 90 days. Despite being on the bench for the last 5 months and still no hope for getting allocated with a project. Firstly, my manager told me that they'll give an early release if I find another opportunity somewhere. But now since I have got the job offer from a different company he denied it. 

The HR of the company where I have to join after a month told me it's not possible to wait for 90 days and he'll revoke the offer if I am unable to join in a month.

😓 my life is a complete mess now. Don't know what to do. I am literally crying every hour, seeing my career getting ruined. It was my mistake joining such a company where employees are not at all valued. 

It was difficult for me to find another job as I didn't have proper experience. I worked on a project for 8 months only and the project got ramped down. 

Now I don't have any choice. I feel like I am trapped for life and there is no way out.
Writing this post with watery eyes. Hoping to know if there is any solution to this trap.

My offer (from a FAANG company) has been deferred to January 2024. I don't know what to do now: 
 
1) I have another job offer (~8 LPA), but that job requires me to serve notice period of 2-3 months 
 
2) A startup's founder rejected me, saying he wanted someone for long term (he thought I'll leave next January)  
 
Should I try for full time jobs? Many companies become unwilling to take me in, presuming that I will leave in January 2024. 
 
Or should I look for internships (even though I have graduated)? Getting an internship won't help mitigate the risk of not having a fulltime job offer after graduation though.

Hey folks,

I'm currently working for a US client and I am 100% billable to them if that information matters. According to the offer letter, the notice period is of 90 days but there's a buyback option where one can choose to pay and not serve the notice period. But from what I've heard, it's up to Capgemini to accept that buyback offer or not.

So I've recently received an offer from a Singapore based startup and I told them that I can join in 30 days cuz if I hadn't, they wouldn't have even interviewed me in the first place. 
They're okay with buying back my 1 month and let me serve 30 days but I'm concerned what if Capgemini refuses to let me leave.

What are my options here? Can I tell them that I'm leaving company due to some personal/health issues so I can get an early release. Do I need to involve a lawyer?
