Hello everyone, I'm reaching out for advice on a challenging situation I'm facing regarding my employment bond. Here's what happened: During my college placement, I was selected by a company for a developer role with a promised CTC of 3 LPA. Two days later, I was called to their office where the HR informed me that the CTC was "up to" 3 LPA, not exactly 3 LPA. Despite this, I accepted the offer and signed a bond for two years (including a six-month internship), also providing a cheque for 1 Lac as a security deposit. Now, as my internship is nearing completion, there's a final review meeting scheduled where they will restructure the CTC. During my internship, I learned from existing employees that the company is notorious for poor salary growth and minimal hikes. I feel trapped by the "up to" scheme and am worried about my future with this company. I'm seeking advice on how to navigate this situation and, if possible, save my 1 Lac cheque. I find myself in a rather perplexing situation at work and could use some impartial advice. Currently, I am employed at an Indian e-commerce firm where I have put in a lot of hard work. However, during the recent annual cycle, I was not promoted, and my salary hike was disappointingly meager (CCTC 14.5LPA). Naturally, I expressed my concerns to my manager, who advised me to wait until the mid-cycle as my promotion case would be reconsidered then. In the meantime, I actively sought out new opportunities, and I have received an enticing offer from a Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) firm with a significantly higher compensation of 24LPA. This is substantially more than what I'm currently earning, but less than my expected CTC that is around 28-30LPA. The confusion lies in the fact that my current firm has now initiated the promotion feedback process, and it's possible that I may get the promotion soon. I'm now torn between two choices: do I stay at my current job, potentially get the promotion, and then reconsider switching, or do I seize the opportunity at the CPG firm with the better financial package? I understand that both options have their pros and cons, but I'm finding it challenging to make a decision on my own. Any advice or insights you could provide would be immensely helpful in guiding me through this tough decision-making process. Guys, need a quick descriptive help here. I applied to the position of senior profile for which in 1st round only they gave asked youe CTC expectation and at what CTC you will not go beyond. I shared my CTC and after 3 days I got an mail stating that my candidature got rejected because they will not be able to pay that CTC which is market standard that i asked. Now, i want to work in that company because profile is good and will help to draft my career and i am ready to decrease my CTC expectation also. My problem is how do I portray over mail and what pointers i should be adding to convey them to consider my profile for next round of interview as i am ready to work at lesser CTC (asked 3x of my curent CTC when lastly was discussed). Note: HR didn't asked my my current CTC . She directly asked expectations and at what CTC you will not go beyond. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!

Having almost 6yrs experience with single digit salary 😭 every friend and colleague are making a killing every recruiter I speak to just offer x% over last CTC but not the amount I ask stating budget issue. Hii Community, Two months ago, I was let go from a retail company where I was hired on a fixed-term contract for a supply chain operation role with SAP support, specifically for a project that has now concluded. As I look for new opportunities, my previous CTC appears high, which is preventing me from getting shortlisted. How should I address this issue?

So this happened with me, HR called me if i am interested in Job, I said yes and provided my expected CTC and current CTC. based on that they took my Technical Round which i cleared comfortably. Now in Manager round, the manager said they cannot provide me with my expected CTC and will proceed with HR round only if i am open to negotiation. Whats the use of asking Expected CTC at start if you are not ready to support that salary. Why is manager concerned with salary discussion ? Are HR dead in IBM ?

These days HRs are asking the employees before sitting for an interview about their current ctc. I don’t want to reveal that to them and want to get paid according to the industry standards/ based on the market conditions. How to smoothly avoid that question and avoid getting underpaid?
