You’ll realise very quickly that you need to get people along to go far anywhere in life. The only way to be an IC and still succeed is if you’re an investor. And that’s just succeeding financially.
Well this hold for promotions but not appraisal. What logic is 'as you aren't extroverted and dont make rangoli with the team or drink till you puke your guts out with the team i am going to give cut 25k monthly as a penalty' .
Showcase more and more of my projects to Leadership Team. Although you delivered, leadership doesn’t know about it and I won’t be getting a promotion or a decent hike.
I thought it was my manager’s work to do internal marketing for me, literally they’re getting paid for doing that
Every Indian manager told me this exact thing. Once I asked my manager that she should help her team with marketing and it's her job. She replied that it's my carrier I should do this. She is doing for herself. She got promotion in 2 months.
Not absurd but I see common trend of ask to do more… Isse jyaada karliya toh mein khudki company na khol lu 😆
I am a fresher so for me it was Not Eligible, but to some of my colleagues it has been said that - " There is an issue in the backend, so we are unable to give you higher ratings 🤣"
You didn't have enough visibility in 6 months. Bhai mere mujhe join karte hi critical projects mein daal diya and successfully complete karne ke baad bhi yeh sunne mila.
Seems they need visibility of some other kind. 😆
This one sucks. If they could’ve already said that no matter what x months won’t be enough for your appraisal.. We could do what’s mentally right for us.
Criticality of a resource/project is not proportional to visibility. If u had critical projects.. Do ensure to send high number of emails or documents etc.. Creating good noise is always good for career growth. During appraisal discussion these emails / documents serve as proof and gets easier for manager to make a case foe you. Remember the kid that cries the most gets the most attention from the parents
