Btech in Data Science , Business and Economics at Plaksha OR BMS at Masters Union

Hey guys! I have Plaksha univeristy and masters union as my options. I want to build some substantial business. Telling you about my background we have a family business, we are real estate developer/ dealer( We build flats) then some wholesaler and have restaurant . So maybe after working for 1-2 years i will return back to the base. I personally think Btech( data science) will give me the tech knowledge but gonna miss few aspects of business running.( though a few are covered in it) whereas in BMS which is at Masters union it only has business perspective, not that deep tech. Guys please provide your point of view on it . I am unsure which college should i join.

Your family has 3 good businesses. If you don't have any particular reason to stay here. Go out for undergrad and masters. Plakshas and Munions will come and go. Abroad experience will shape you better Away from family tantrums + new world. Don't miss it

Probably will go for masters now, but what if i ask you between Masters Union and Plaksha ? I am thinking to go with Plaksha as its tech intensive

I am hearing about Plaksha for the first time. My friend was considering Masters Union for undergrad but then later converted to IIMIndore IPM after he had some conversation with an IIM Prof. I didn't go into details. If you so inclined towards tech you can learn everything online. from MIT to CalTech lectures. Look for a uni where you'll find high networth individuals. that's the whole point why people do MBA. You can fix this in undergrad itself.

If you wanna build pure (traditional and startups both) business, interested in business leadership and subjects, go for BMS. Although I think Plaksha B.Tech seems full of interesting and industry-standard list of practical technical and business subjects. So, if you think you want to explore tech and business together or ambition to build business based on tech, or to work in tech for a while, and have confidence in your maths and coding capabilities; you should go for this course.

Yeahh i realised the tech aspect is missing in BMS and i dont want that. Thats why thinking to go with Plaksha . Infact my fees at Plaksha is 30 L where as in the other college its 37 L

Education options for Techies

What are the options for someone who wants to go back to college in India and does not want to do MBA? I have Btech degree from Tier 1 college. Mtech from India is not worth it. I don't want to go abroad for studying. I am averse to MBA because I want to keep working in building tech. I want to study more to have another chance for building myself from a student tag.

Thoughts on Data Analytics course provided by ExcelR?

I'm currently pursuing my B.TECH in bioinformatics ( 2nd yr) and I want to ustilize my time of vacations to upskill myself in the area which I find intersiting. After talking to some data analyst on linkden (some of them pivoted to this role from non-tech background, rest had done their b.tech or masters in statistics and then pivoted to D.A). Thus,I thought to give it a try by doing some course. I wanted general opnions about the courses provided by these institutions, is Excelr Thane's data analytcis course worth it? Would be open to all kind of opinions.

Suggestion about MS or MBA

[Background] 25. M. I'm a mechanical engineer and realized early during college that I'm not cut out for mechanical engineering domain. Switched to analytics domain right after college. [Current Experience] 4 YOE in an analytics firm based out of India catering to 2 major Fortune 100 companies. Leading a 10 member analytics team, directly responsible for problem solving, solution design, stake holder management etc. [Thoughts] Loved being an IC during early stage of career. Found it interesting to get into the rabbit hole of designing solutions and executing the solutions. Off late, really like being a lead and focusing on multiple problems at the same time. Little far for executing the solutions, bu focusing of understanding the porblem and designing solutions and letting the team execute it. Right now, confused about what I want to do next. [Request] Thinking of pursing a MS(DS/ML) or MBA(Analytics) for more exposure. Thoughts or suggestion welcomed.

Is an MBA worth it?

Hi, I have over 3.5 years of experience in IT and working at a service based company. I'm working in Oracle PaaS tech stack and not sure how much scope it has because not every organisation uses it. To switch technologies is difficult within an organization, unless you are lucky to have a project like that. I was thinking to consider MBA in business analytics because of the same. Will that be worth it or can someone suggest an organization which helps switch technologies?
