Good or bad decision?

I am 2023 passout and I got fulltime around 2023 July, till now I have total 1 year internship experience and 9-10 months full-time. I decided to switch because of multiple reasons like, sometimes wlb become worst, toxic management and full politics, not feeling like learning anything just making APIs from past few months. As I am in my early stage of career I got a good switch with approx 120% hike on Base and 60-70% hike on CTC. Now I am in highly doubt that this switch is a good switch or I should have waited for 2 years and could have switched to directly sde2 with more compensation? My preference is both good compensation and good wlb. Please suggest me something? My goal is to reach 50LPA base till 4 to 5 years of experience.

This is a personal win post. I'm a '23 grad from top IIT but from non circuital branch. I did my summer internship in a payments MNC as a Quality Engineer and received PPO, but I rejected it since I didn't want to continue in testing. This was when recession was just starting. The money was decent in PPO, but I felt I could get more in a dev role in placements. When placements came, I interviewed with few big companies, but unfortunately got rejected at some stage. Finally I got placed at Cogoport (yes that same cursed company), with a higher CTC but same base. I was initially happy with it, but as I talked with seniors I came to know about the horrors there, and a month before my joining I decided to take the jump and didn't join. My parents weren't supportive of the decision and I had to fight with them. I was trying offcampus for a couple of months with a very specific strategy, I got good response but none of them converted to an offer. I finally joined a seed stage startup through my friend as an intern for 3 months. I struggled a lot initially but eventually put in the efforts and learnt and contributed well. The work, culture and people are great here. Two months after I joined the startup, I got to know that almost half of the new joiners were laid off from Cogoport. And today is my first official day as a full time employee at the same startup I joined as an intern. The base is also the same as the other 2 offers, although CTC decreased but I have immense learning and responsibilities here and I'm sure I'll grow faster than my counterparts in big companies. I have worked in startups for 6 years now(Product Manager role); and recently applied for 1-year MBA programs in UK. Got in Queen’s University, University of Liverpool, Birmingham and a few others. I resigned a few months ago because company was putting people on PIP instead of layoff and severance payments. I am not working at the moment. Eventually I did not go for MBA - thought it’s foolish to spend 30lakhs for a Masters Stamp on my portfolio. People generally to for MBA to move into another domain; and mostly product. I am thinking of a few conventional businesses now or a job overseas. I do not have a Tier 1/2 college degree. What would you have done?

Hii, I'm a front-end developer having around 3 years of work experience. I got laid-off in 2023 just after 1.8years in an organisation. Then I joined another company and got laid off in 6 months. Now I have an offer from early stage startup but I'm too scared to accept it because of my experience. But on the other hand I don't have any offer as well. Will it look bad on my resume. I don't know... I've started thinking that something is wrong with me otherwise what is the chances of getting laid off twice within same year. First I loose my peace of mind because of work pressure and then I loose my work... pretty f**cked up situation. I have never been this unde confident. What do you think shall I take the offer from startup again or wait few more months or more to get into good mnc??

Since the start of this month, I have been applying for different opportunities but haven't received a response from any of them. I am currently a backend developer with 3.5 years of experience at a Fortune 30 company and have been promoted for two consecutive years. I also don't want to use referrals right now because I'm completely unprepared. If you are in job hunt please share your experience.

Can anyone help me with a sde or frontend or backend developer role I'm a 2024 passout worked in a startup for 10 months. Here's my skillset C,c++,Java, Javascript,Nodejs, SQL, python , a little bit of react, I mostly worked on list views, redirection , data modelling using mongoose I worked on a project where the pharama companies can request their new license or renewal their expired license seems easy but need to pass through various checks including government and different users so how to handle all these were too hectic So please anyone who is ok to refer me with a decent package is appreciated.

Back in 2018, I had an offer from a fast-growing fintech startup. The salary was lower, the hours looked brutal, and the whole thing seemed risky. I chose to stay at my comfortable Big Tech job instead. Fast forward to now: that startup just went public, and early employees are instant millionaires. Meanwhile, I'm still grinding away at the same desk, wondering "what if?" Has anyone else passed up a high-risk, high-reward opportunity for security? How do you cope with the regret?

Has anyone here with Tech work experience (India) (not from MAANG or any reputed companies, or tier 1 colleges ) taken a career break for personal reasons ? Not talking essential leaves maternity break or something like that, but more like for well being/upskilling/travel etc, whatever it maybe. Could you share your experience ? What was your experience like getting back to work/interview experience ? I am considering taking one myself. I know this is normalised on Europe, but I feel in India, many people (esp. some recruiters) find this weird and most people are even scared about taking a break. Thoughts ?
