I have an onshore counterpart, one level above me. We two are setting up the project and conducting workshops. The problems I have are:

1. I work in the B shift from 2 PM to 11 PM since the client is in PST. But i login usually at 10-11
2. My onshore counterpart works in EST but logs in very late.
3. Although I work in the B shift, I often extend until 1 AM because I am preparing all the PPTs and doing research. I have to explain everything I do daily for 2-3 hours. She schedules meetings during the PST afternoon to present that work.
4. It has been 2 months of the same routine. In every weekly stand-up, she gets appreciation as if she did the work and research, without giving me any credit.
5. I can escalate the issue, but no one will listen because she has been here for 12 years, whereas I joined a year ago. She has strong networking with the leadership, which I lack.
6. I can ask for release, but I like this project and have provided solutions for some challenging gaps. I feel very bad because I work for 16-18 hours per day. She could schedule the meeting in the PST morning, but she purposely schedules it in the PST afternoon and gets the credit for my work.

PS: i saw her creating a transcript to read during the meeting

Do people like this really exist? If you have personal commitments, why come to work? Don’t you have a conscience and feel guilty about stealing credit for others’ work? Nowadays, there are many posts related to stopping gender-based reservations. Is it because of situations like this?

Last month I interviewed with NoBroker for a Demand Servicing Head position. The process went like this:

2 rounds of screening with HR/TA - was okay, good conversations. After which they scheduled an interview with the Business Head for the particular team. This interview went well too. 

After this they sent me an assignment - the longest assignment I've ever worked on as a part of the recruitment process. It asked me to write multiple detailed SOPs for the sales team, build a demand forecast model, and a complete demand generation plan for an oddly specific scenario. They gave me 5 days for it. 

I worked my a** off, desperate to get the job as I've been unemployed for some time. I did the assignment close to perfection - spoke to so many industry folks in real estate and made realistic assumptions, covering all possibilities. 

All in all I've not been so confident about my work ever like I was in this case. I submit and they acknowledge. 

Few days go by, I follow up, only to be given generic delay reasons by HR. Eventually, after more than a week they rejected me. When I requested for feedback on the assignment they completely ghosted me. 

I don't know why I'm sharing this here, but it's been hard. I've been jobless for > 5 months and every such experience completely shatters my already low self esteem further.

I was desperately looking for internship for this summer then got a mail regarding doing a task to prove your worth kinda shmik, even though I have sem exams I did the task in hopes of getting the internship. Then they send me this badboy, this "task" is to make a fully functional application that can audio to a video with video frames expansion audio frames adding multiple audio to videos and multiple video to audio, audio trimming video trimming, even though I previously informed that I had exams ongoing rn, does this seem legit to you guys? Even though I'm pretty desperate I emailed them that I have exams tomorrow, then can interview me if they want but I can't do this rn... Internship search continues...

This seems ridiculous!!

So one of my junior teammate always asks for help for few things. Actually he and some other folks don't have access to few portals and tools on Azure and Databases due to security policy.
While all the other folks who need access to same tools, do consiser the fact that I might be busy with my own work and ask for time when to connect. But this coworker starts a huddle out of nowhere, expects me to login at 11:00 PM at night, just messqges hello/hi without any context and doesn't stop messaging until I reply. He also talks in a manner like he's doing me a favor.
I know that me having access to tools means I should always unblock others, given it's not there fault they don't have access to it. My manager even tried to get them access but the security team to paranoid.

How to deal with this. Am I being rude here?

Picked up coding again and feel ready for a job now Should I be honest or lie about the gap? Been ghosted my few recruiters whom I was honest with.]

JS developer here. I used to be a decent student, public speaker and one of the best quizzers in the college scene (former National Champ). But I never addressed some traumatic events that took place in my life before I turned 16. My depression took refuge in substance abuse and I abandoned all studies/career prospects during the pandemic. Eventually after 7 years of using, I got clean/sober in Jan'23 and resumed my studies. I earned my degree but on paper it took me 8 years to complete a 4 year B. Tech (2016-24).

Reasonably I get asked about the gap in my academics by hr/recruiters whom I push my CV to. I've been dead honest to them about my struggles with mental health and addiction in the past. And I've been getting ghosted. (It could be because of skill reasons on my part but I'm not even getting a feedback).

Should I not tell recruiters the truth about the gap? Should I leave the addiction bit out? How should I word it? I've never held a real coding job before but been slogging for the last 6 months to get better each day (my github and projects will reflect that). Please help me out with all your valuable suggestions. If you're a tech recruiter let me know how you would perceive my case.

Even if he cheated, I don’t think he would be able to survive. 5 percentile is way too low to be able to prove your worth and defend 300/300. 🤦🏻‍♂️

I was laid off on 7th Sep and my garden leave was till 29th Sep. I got average severance package and I was in panic situation for almost 2 weeks. 

I gave interviews for 12 targeted position (luckily got till last rounds for all positions and got total 5 offers.
2 offers felt like being exploited, employers were milking my layoff situation and offered 10%-15%. I took a call to reject them and explore further.
Got 3 offers in first week of Jan, these were worth considering.
Yes I did wait for 4 months to see such favourable offers.
One with 15% hile and relocation, second with 60k Euro and move to Europe and third offer with 100% hike with remote.
It was a no brainer and I closed on the one with Remote and 100% hike.

Dont just rush to close on anything which comes first, assess the future and close on the decent or best one according to ur needs. 

For those who were laid-off recently and looking for opportunities I would say keep faith market is opening and positions are getting listed.
You will get something good soon.

Is Shreyas Srinivasan now more focused on company politics and bickering rather than focusing on product building?

His largely talks about homepage designs only (like that's the only product management he knows), comes and gives gyaan but never had been able to deliver nos (his current KPIs are all red since 2 months), blames on other teams / external factors rather than owning things up like any half decent leader.

And most funny he and his minions (Neehar etc.) create full mess and then they start taking moral high ground / highlighting that how product is messed up once they pass responsibility to some other team.

No wonders Paytm lags so much behind PhonePe and GPay. When product leaders focus more on politics than getting work done, not sure how will key metrics grow.

Thinking of doing an MBA degree
Main factor worrying me is I'm making a good amount of money in my current job (20lpa, 2yoe), but I want to do an MBA to gain a broader perspective/get a business outlook/make friends😔/personal growth.

I recently replied to a post about referrals and received a lot of resumes for referrals

While going through one of the resume I noted a portfolio site, it looked pretty impressive from a UI/UX/Design point of view

Designing a minimal yet engaging site is not easy, I was revisiting the site to take notes and was messing around with different features, and I used the search feature which TOOK ME TO THE ORIGINAL PERSON’S WEBSITE

The person ripped off someone’s work and didn’t even bother updating some of the links

I value integrity, I’ve been designing my portfolio from scratch from a while now, I respect people for their work. This is infuriating to me, to some it might sound like an overreaction ( maybe it is ) but to me theft of work is one of the lowest act a person can do

Now that the rant is over, I’ll add objectively why this is bad for everyone ( yes all the parties involved here )

1. You ( the thief ): Due to the buggy nature of the page, anyone visiting and using features would be redirected to the original person’s site. Assuming you have this site to show off your profile, this will invalidate everything on your resume, if you lied here what else are you lying about?

2. Original person: The original person is really talented and probably won’t hurt a lot opportunities for them. But knowing this might hurt their peace of mind

3. Recruiters: The talent pool in India is huge, but good quality talent pool percentage is relatively small. If someone poses as a talented individual using a stolen portfolio it makes their job harder.

4. People looking for jobs: Having people lie about their skills won’t make your life easier. If there’s mistrust, it is harder for you to show off your skill. You’ll need to work twice as hard to prove your talents

5. Indians as a community: Racism towards Indian based on their integrity is prevalent online and IRL. This does not help it at all.
