A friend has a kickass resume (according to me) for a very niche business role that just opened up at Google. But he has no experience in applying for big companies. 

We’ve been reviewing his resume together and honestly, all the feedback I have is from what I have read online. He seems to be sure that he’ll be able to nail the interviews but that’s honestly not a problem for later imo.

Disclaimer this is not a rant or this has nothing to put in bad way someones hard work.

With so many ppl making tutorials and selling courses online, I had my few observations. I welcome ppl to join on this discussion with their point of views as well.

The most important things is you need a solid company name on your resume, doesn’t matter what work you might have done there. Everyone knows the meatiest work in google is done at west coast office(just an example).

This gives you the starting point, I would not disagree to the fact that these guys put on the hard work to crack the interviews, but that doesn’t mean you start selling a dream to everyone. It will be like what harshad mehta did to his clients during the days.

If a person is working in some unknown company and even though the person teaches really well, I bet there will be hardly any takers for his/her course. 

Teaching is an art as per me, not everyone can be a great teacher. There are some good ones out there but majority of them don’t fall under above category. I would say they are social media influencers with a bit of tech knowledge. 

We have already lost a generation with rot learning and now with the rise of these ppl, the day is not far way when a person aceing the interview knows jack shit when given an actual problem to solve at workplace.

I am currently working in Salesforce as LMTS, it’s only been 2 months. I am enjoying it here. I recently got an interview call from Google for Staff Software Engineer. I have applied for Australian PR and might get it in 6 months.. 
Should I continue in Salesforce for now or should I give Google interview and if I get it then Jump.. 
I don’t want to waste my interview chance and think of it like Il think about it if I clear.. Il only give interview if I decide to join if I get it.

Can anybody working at Google India, throw some light on what’s happening with Hiring. Seeing some posts related to layoff, people interviewing, people getting ghosted by recruiters after interviews. I’ve seen few people waiting for their interview feedback for few weeks after completing their all interview rounds. Is google going to stop hiring or there are too many candidates applying? I just wanted to know what would the ideal prep strategy look like. I like to think I'm below average in leetcode. I can solve a lc mediums maybe under 30 mins. But lc hard is a different ball game for me. 

How long should I request for in terms of a preparation time. And it'd help what all concepts should be focussed.

I needed some help in coming up with a study plan to specifically train for Google's interview process. I currently have 4yoe, so I think the interviews will be for SDE2 role. There will be 3 DSA rounds, 1 Googleyness, and 1 Leadership round. I already have experience in DSA and have solved most of Neetcode 150 (except DP, Bit Manipulation, and some hard problems). If any of you have given Google (or any FAANG) interview before, I would love to get some guidance on how to prepare in 30 days. I already know most of the common algorithms like DFS, BFS, Sliding window, Binary search, etc so I won't have to start from scratch.

Also, the recruiter mentioned that I will have only 45 mins to solve two questions: mostly 1 hard and 1 medium. So I basically have around 20 mins per problem, which I feel is very difficult to solve a Leetcode Hard problem unless you have seen it before. Did I misunderstand the recruiter? Are there any tips on how to get good at this?

My contract was terminated last month citing restructuring.
Honestly, I saw it coming but wasn't expecting it would hit like this

I tried keeping my mind distracted, but now it has started to sink

I live with parents and they aren't saying anything (they were feeding me before and still are, no change for them)

I have had thoughts of ending all this, but do not have the courage. What if it ends halfway and I am redundant my whole life?
