I know it is unethical to make a face medical certificate for getting a sick leave, but my attendance at school is low because I have to go to my coaching for my NEET preparation. They want attendance above 75%, and mine is 60%. I cannot tell them that I take NEET coaching because it is very frowned upon in my school, and teachers will hold a grudge against me. Where can I get a fake medical certificate, and what disease justifies my long absence from school?

Picked up coding again and feel ready for a job now Should I be honest or lie about the gap? Been ghosted my few recruiters whom I was honest with.]

JS developer here. I used to be a decent student, public speaker and one of the best quizzers in the college scene (former National Champ). But I never addressed some traumatic events that took place in my life before I turned 16. My depression took refuge in substance abuse and I abandoned all studies/career prospects during the pandemic. Eventually after 7 years of using, I got clean/sober in Jan'23 and resumed my studies. I earned my degree but on paper it took me 8 years to complete a 4 year B. Tech (2016-24).

Reasonably I get asked about the gap in my academics by hr/recruiters whom I push my CV to. I've been dead honest to them about my struggles with mental health and addiction in the past. And I've been getting ghosted. (It could be because of skill reasons on my part but I'm not even getting a feedback).

Should I not tell recruiters the truth about the gap? Should I leave the addiction bit out? How should I word it? I've never held a real coding job before but been slogging for the last 6 months to get better each day (my github and projects will reflect that). Please help me out with all your valuable suggestions. If you're a tech recruiter let me know how you would perceive my case.

You don't have to. They are not your friends and you don't know how someone might take it as.  
 You have been brave enough to come out of it but unfortunately not everyone will see it.

How can I ask HR for WFH extension? My company deploys hybrid structure but I asked the manager for WFH extension due to grandma's health issue. My grandma underwent a surgery past month but she not that serious health wise and doesn't need home care. The Manager and HR is stringent on me to work from office and HR is asking me to provide documents to submit.

My company has an unlimited leave policy. Also the company recently laid off my coworker for taking too many leaves. What's going on here ?

The “unlimited” leave policy does not mean you can go on leave for an unlimited duration, no? It’s obvious there should be a reasonable balance.  
  
 It doesn’t help that the unlimited leave policy saw a majority of the folks take lesser leaves. When you have a fixed set of leaves and lapsing, people end up taking leaves just because the count is there.  
  
 And another reason is that you get encashment for remaining leaves when you’re laid off or when you quit. With unlimited leaves, the company saves this cost.  
  
 It’s criminal to think that any company would make policies that favour their employees. All policies favour employers at all times 😊

My mother is diagnosed with Grade 4 liver damage today. She also has Type 2 diabetes which "does not subside"

She doesn't eat any sugars, cut out starch, very very occasional outside/packaged food, no alcohol, has been working (job and household), works around clock in the house
Taking allopathic medicines for diabetes, now may start diet restrictions for Liver damage too

Strongly feel she is being mis-diagnosed. 
The hospitals and diagnostic centre are trying to milk healthy people too. How else do you keep up revenue

Have you faced similar situations? What can be done here?

P.S. Most of the doctors we have met are big C, the ones who sound genuine are the ones not treating 😪

I see a lot of posts about WLB, I want to know what do you consider as a decent WLB. I will go first.

1. Leave early if the work for that day is done
2. No pings and calls post work hours, there are always exceptions and thats okay, should not become a norm
3. Respecting when someone is in vacation and not disturbing them.
4. Not rejecting leaves 

I will add more in comments If more comes to my mind.
