I am almost 31 now. Usually in our families, by this time, married couple is having a kid at least. 
We don’t want to have kid only because i work in startups. Last 2-3 years were tough from job security point of view and I don’t want to get into a situation when I don’t have job to support the family and kid or I need to change locations frequently because of jobs.
Is this common for more folks? 
Thoughts?

PS - I have emergency fund of 6-8 months.

Minority view... If given a choice, would you want to be born in your house... You are working, means no generational wealth to rely on. You yourself feel your job is not conducive to raise children. Your emergency fund is just 6-8 months (sorry to sound rude but that's not much, and will burn through with kid expenses). There must be more things that you have not shared with us. At the end of it if doesn't sound great, why would you want to bring another person into existence and force them to lead a life which is middle class, mediocre, already over populated society...

Following wester consumerism blindly is the reason when most DINK couple decides not to have kids. The age old colonial term of "civilising the brown is white man's responsiblity".
Let me burst this bubble of ever happy life and not having dependency of kids,they are not investment,etc etc.
 I wont highlight if its right or wrong here for it lots of post are there. I better highlight what will happen after next 20 30 years as I can learn from west(USA) lifestyle pattern.
All these people have kept most of their money in *paper* assets like PF,Bank FD,stocks. Reason for highlighting the word paper will see.
 As the number of oldies will increase over youngsters. Govt will need more youngsters as economy is worked upon by them. No loan takers,no new consumers. What will happen stock prices will fall,same goes for bank interest ,in worst case you wont be ablw to withdraw your principal even(happening in australia, people have to inform why they are withdarwing cash to bankers).
Next for pf: when ww contribute to PF we pay foe the payback of current retired generation or basically we are paying their debt. But due to lack of youngster no one will pay your debt so forget your PF as well.
This is how your money bubble of Crores will vanish. 
There is a term debt to gdp ratio, ever heard? Its the debt taken by govt from future generations to develop current lifestyle. Hence still govt need people to sustain and payback that debt so they will allow illegal immigrants ( what you are seeing in USA and Europe in name of "multicultralism").
And you know what? These rowdy immigrants will fill your city and you will become second class citizen why cause its democracy and majority rules. Noone will protect you leave alone police actually there is no one "left" to protect you( read statements of Canadian police regarding car thefts you will find similarities).
Still oldies are there so new experimentation on assisted suicides(Canada is leading the way in current timeframe).

I want to know from the members of gravevine, what are their views on being a DINK couple or a DINKWAD( double income no kids with a dog). From financial prospects like having a huge disposable income to emotional aspects like not having a legacy or going against custom Indian tradition. Do share your thoughts 🤔💭

What are your thoughts about being DINKS?

We are a DINK couple (live-in, will get married soon) and absolutely no plans to have kids. Maybe be a DINKWAD someday by adopting an indie. Also no plans to buy a home or spend on our marriage. This is not a financial decision (both of us are doing decently well in our careers) but we don't want to have a child knowing how nothing around is improving and we don't want to sacrifice the best years of our lives by doing this. We are building a large corpus to be financially independent and travel without any financial restrictions.

I met her via a matrimonial site, we spoke like crazy for the first 3-4 days, it was non stop, i honestly thought that's it this is the girl I wanted to be with, she was fun, extrovert, pretty, had a very close knit of 3 friends (all girls), was focused on her career, was smart, didn't have any crazy past, etc

I happened to f***k up, i unnecessarily put the conversation in the wrong direction, taunted people with privileged upbringing and what not, but that was all bs, I tried to be someone else in front of her. And she got a bit nervous about it.

And eventually she ended up saying no, cause we have a different upbringing, and different mindset and it could be a problem in the future. And all this rejection happens right after I meet her.

I was appalled, not able to accept what just happened that too, this quickly, i still think she decided too early. We could've given this more time. She ended up texting that we can still be friends. Even today I feel like i should say this up right and see what happens, i don't know when was the last time I met someone like her, she was special for sure.

Dating has become the norm for relationships today, but many don't realize that it's a relatively recent development, prevalent in Western society for only about a century, and it's already causing societal issues.

Previously, Indian arranged marriages were standard (different from forced marriages). Families would arrange meetings between their daughters and another family's sons. If they liked each other, they would soon plan the wedding, marry, have sex, and start families.

Today, individuals are left to find their own partners. If you don't find someone in high school, university, or work, your chances of finding a partner diminish. There's also less incentive for marriage, as sex no longer requires marriage or even dating, leading to more people pursuing sex directly. This has created a skewed dynamic where fewer men pursue women due to competition, turning to porn instead, while women face exploitation by men who have abundant choices.

Ultimately, near 28-30 both genders rush to the arranged marriage system to get them a partner while having their feet dipped on dating apps.

This has lead to decreased marriage rates and, consequently, lower birth rates since most births occur within marriages. A decline in families results in a decreased population, putting more pressure on younger generations to support an aging population. Western nations, therefore, rely heavily on immigration, causing additional challenges. Increased single motherhood also correlates with higher crime rates, drug use, loneliness, mental health issues, and suicides

P.S. I'm young and dating too. Just thoughts for a conversation on what the implications of dating for us as a society could be.

Your description of arranged marriages is incorrect. You are given the option that if they liked each other get got married - which was not the case in the last generation. Often times the meetings was just formality, and my own mother met father on the day of their engagement. So nope, they didn’t have the choice to see if they liked each other, their parents made that decision for them. 
  
 Now take that into today’s scenario, how many people in this generation will willingly marry someone their parents has chosen, without any say in it? None. Doesn’t matter what their income is. You yourself are dating.. why? You can ask your parents to find someone for you, if you believe their judgment. The issue is that we don’t, and people avoid admitting that cos they don’t wanna be seen as someone who disagrees with their parents. 
  
 People are free to do what they like, arrange, love, dating, single, unmarried, adoption with marriage. Literally their choice. Nothing is ruining anything, in fact the recent situation in our country, where there are no laws upheld for rich, unemployed where 40% IITians aren’t placed, religious division - are more of a concern than a person’s personal choice. My 2 cents 🙌🏻

I ( 27 M ) am in relationship with a girl (27 F ) yesterday night we ended up having unprotected intercourse ( i know too silly of us ) and since then my life is completely fucked up. I am not able to concentrate anywhere for even a minute. Although we took i-pill within 1.5 hours but knowing that it isn’t 100% effective, my heart is just sinking. There are continuous thoughts of unwanted pregnancy, abortion, pain etc. Has anyone ever gone through this, please give me your shoulder, i need it.

I am a 26/M/60+LPA/IITian Software Engineer at a FAANG. I have spent most of my time travelling places with my friends/solo and have dedicated a significant portion of my small life to my career, and I am quite happy with it. I am confused about one thing tho, should I get married? given I am happy living like this, I just want to hear what men have to say on this, I want to know given a chance would you guys get married? If yes how to check if a woman is a fine fit for you? I made a rule to only date a woman who makes at least 70% of my salary OR has an excellent academic background AND should be humble. With these set of rules the chances of finding a girl is almost slim to none given ratio at good colleges and at high paying tech jobs are like that 🤧, I am sure people won't find these rules good, but I want to know if I am being stupid pls correct me it will help me reshape my thinking.

I have my own home in a TI city. Hence I don’t have to pay any rent.
I current SIP amount is 30,000 per month 
I started investing in 2021 and have been increasing my investment amount by 10% every year.
I will be getting married sometime this year end.
My fiancé and I might have a child in the next 4-5 years.
In addition to SIP, I invest in PPF.
Have invested for 3 years and will continue to do so for the next 15+ years.
My current net worth- including stocks, FDs. MF is around 30 Lakhs.
I don’t aspire to buy a new car or a new bike.
