I taught 2-3 semesters for a college's online degree education course for MBA students. Subjects included fintech, intro to blockchain, NFTs.

Stopped teaching for the college because they were paying peanuts for all the effort, wasn't worth it. Still have the material I made, that I can repurpose.

Can't really sell the course standalone because can't offer a degree as such, only certificate max. Plus the material is also mostly available for free online on different websites and sources, I just aggregated and organized it.

Would have loved to make a monetizable edtech project out of it, but it will require rewriting the content to some extent and I'm not a coder that can spin up an LMS or customise an existing one well enough. Making it free/open source is also an option since people don't want to pay for something they can find online for free (albeit after searching around).

Any thoughts/ideas/suggestions?

For everyone wanting to quit their jobs but can’t due to the recession and ongoing layoffs, you need to build a better relationship with you manager.  

This way your work gets easier and hopefully you will buy yourself some time before you absolutely need to quit because of your horrible manager.

Wishing you all a very happy new year in advance.
I require some guidance, so thought of asking it here.

My main goal for 2024 is to become a ‘modern’ LinkedIn / Social Media Influencer. Once I have achieved enough following, my next goal is to sell my ( overpriced and already available gyaan ) courses to people who are into tech industry. 

This would ensure , I have enough leeway and funds in case I want to start my own startup.

Now, I have the course ready already , I just need to click the submit button to publish on Udemy. But even if I do that no one is going to purchase my course because right now , I ain’t popular. 

Any advice on how should I approach this ? How do I go around selling my courses and also simultaneously become the next big influencer on LinkedIn?

What are your views on a small edtech product that can help/tutor students for SAT and ACT's. I know a ton of these already exist but don't think why I can't launch a similar service and generate a decent revenue. 

I am not looking at a massive valuation but I think this can grow into a neat little business that generates enough to sustain me. (Say about 20-30k USD). Lemme know your thoughts if you don't think this will workout

I have educational material that I want to host on a platform. It's all text for now, media can be added later. Have an angel investor interested in funding it as long as I have an MVP ready first.

What's the best way to create an MVP in the shortest possible time? Need a barebones one that can just deliver content to sign-ups to start with. I'm not a coder but I can experiment with AI tools to make something basic.

Want to keep it minimum effort because it's only one person who's interested as of now, and there's no guarantee of investment even after MVP is ready.

I'm tired of people calling everything in edtech a scam, of course the companies don't help themselves by their bs marketing and unattainable placement claims and other bullshit

But I'm genuinely curious as to what grapers/ grapies / viners find to be not a scam in edtech ?

This post is not to hate on free YouTubers who are providing important information and clarity on coding and required skills which our Indian colleges lack but required by industry.

But seeing everyone jumping into making courses makes me think how many of these courses are actually good, folks with just 1- 2 years experience teaching MERN, DSA promising high packages to all. We have replaced college professors with engineering freshers who have limited scoped knowledge, right now course selling looks like a way to make a quick buck and quit your job.

I understand as a fresher, job is the most important thing and to get a job in this country the easiest and quickest way is coding. Mostly it is the curriculum to blame as it has failed our students and industry. But feels people are finding opportunity in this crisis.

What are your thoughts ?

Is it just me or lately too many instagram ads I have been seeing selling courses ranging from AI, FE, BE, Data science, SQL, from today even some courses teaching power BI and all started appearing in my feed. 

Looks like so called tech influencer are trying to cash in on the current market conditions by selling their courses.

Has anyone else seen this trend?

What’s a business/startup idea that you never got around to building?

Fast learning and fast paced growth aside, after 15 years of MNC experience  I joined a startup to get some ESOPs.. and hopefully a good buyback ..

I have worked in 2 startups now.Both of these were already  Unicorns when I joined .


While I love the culture and dynamic pace of a startup 
i feel my chances of getting a payout  are slim...

My personal learning is to get a good reward you have to be in top 10 employees for sure ... otherwise it's not worth it ..

There is no point joining a Unicorn in middle management...or second in command in any function...
