I’m in notice period myself right now. I feel the same way. Nothing wrong with it. If it’s something important or something you enjoy doing, do it, else let it go. Let the others take it.

If it is WFO, say you fell from a bike and can't walk properly. Put a fake bandage just in case. 
  
 I know ample people who have pulled it off, and taken  weeks of WFH. I wonder if I'll ever have the guts to do so.

After which i have no energy to do anything since all was lost trying to ( not necessarily doing ) work. Can anyone relate? Or gone through it? How do you even fix it?

Initially things were good , but from the last few months The workplace turned toxic and all the nasty things started happening around me.
The burn out was deteriorating mental and physical health, so i lost my patience and resigned.

Making this ama , so that I can help someone who is going through the same situation.

Backend Engineer

I am preparing for the Staff engineer role. Have put my resignation without any offer in hand due to being highly underpaid, no recognition towards my high-value work, poor management, toxic work culture and work-life balance.

I lose all my motivation to study gauzing at the things I am yet to study for the interviews.

I don't want to settle with another mediocre company and stay under paid just like today.
At the same time I don't have any monetory reserve to feel safe on financial side.

Please help me with your words and past experiences of being in a similar situation.

I worked at an early stage startup with really toxic culture and left my job because of that, now it's been one month I just wake up eat and sleep and feel like doing nothing, Although I know at some point I have to resume back but when ever I sit back to document my work prepare my portfolio I just feel no motivation to do so, Is something wrong with me?? I’ve taken few leaves to connect with family and relax but I’m feeling guilty for not working. 
I see slack and emails being exchanged and that makes me feel I’m not doing enough and it will impact my appraisal. 
So essentially I’ve taken leaves but unable to enjoy which was the purpose of taking leaves. Does anyone else relate to this? 
How do y’all cope with this? Any tips?

So I have been doing leetcode and DSA topics over and over from past 15-20  days as I decided now I seriously want to switch.
Today I was totally free in office hours (totally WFH ) ,
I didn't study any new topic , didn't do a single code  as bs man hi nhi kr rha tha .
I just wanted to lay down and rest



Now at the night 12 :00 am I am feeling guilty 😭😭😭😭

I have an offer and 26 days remaining on my notice, spent last 2 months of my notice applying to jobs. Not getting a single call. Even now when only 27 days remaining, getting only rejections.
What to do?

In the recent performance review, shitty manager gave bad review.  Though worked very hard the last whole year. Brought this to skips  notice, but he's not ready to hear what I have to say, just speaks what  manager has to say ( probably not to hamper his relationship with the  manager). This manager is very careless and has no idea what's going on  in the team.. Other colleagues who did less than equal to work as mine  got better rating than me due to their manager being good.   

Lost all hope and motivation to work. What should I do?? If I quit  now the market conditions are too bad. Did not learn anything much in  this shit company..

Can we deny working on new stuff in notice period and just focus on KTs ? Or are we bound to work on whatever is thrown at you while serving notice.

Working in notice period

Every day the day ends and as I am about to leave, i feel like i am wasting my time and day at this company. I am a backend developer  and they are having me write automation testing (I started it for them). I see developers around getting new modules to work but for me it is only browser.find_element. I asked CTO and CPO and they said CEO wants me to do automation for sometime.

I have been trying to apply at places but getting no response from anywhere.

Suggest something I should be doing. Help me, I need it.

Wasting my days

I am thinking of leaving my current job and focus on myself, getting to know myself better etc. Currently I have enough money saved for my expenses for next 6-8 months. 
   Everyone I have asked about this say don't leave your job if you don't have another lined up, in this tech winter. I understand their view point. It aligns with what my parents think as well.

Is there anyone who has had done this in the past? Do you recommend this route? Are the consequences far too severe? Does anyone have a different opinion from one stated above?

Anyone ever left job without having another job lying around for their mental peace?

I'm in the same boat, on the verge of quitting, and will most probably take the leap next month.

Currently I’m a software engineer in corporate. But now my company has full demotivated environment and I’m not able to work or deliver my tasks.
I’m applying for other companies also . But don’t even get interviews scheduled.

What should i do?
Should i go for govt jobs also?
Should i resign first then decide?

I will finish 2 years in may, I worked as business analyst for 1 year 8 months and took release in order to get into a React Js project, I gave rmg all my skills, he said he could not get me a project on those skills, I am rejecting all the support projects, he threatened me saying people are getting released from company if they are not taking projects,
(I cleared digital few months ago)


Cut to the present-
I am working on L1 Sap support, every day I feel like quitting the company, I might have applied for around 400 companies easily in the past 1 month I received call from 2 and neither had scheduled interview after knowing the notice period, If I dont take a decision now I wont be able to crack interviews later as days pass the experience I need to fake also builds,

My options:
1. I thought I will keep my papers after the current hike and revoke it if I do not get any offer
2. Fight with the current manager for release on the basis of the 2 year contract he recently told, which was not mentioned while I was taken into the project.
3. Do my learnings parallelly and when I get an offer I will leave the company


My current level of understanding in react is moderate, I have done few small projects and I helped one of my friends in his project for some time and I feel that I can crack interviews.

Please give your suggestions, its a life thats going to change if i stay here for 2 more yrs I will come out with 0 exposure and 4 yrs experience.

Hi, I recently resigned and am currently serving my notice period. Company policy requires a 3-month notice, but I’ve seen instances where employees were released after one month. I spoke with my manager about this, but the GM, who is my manager's manager has not approved it. I’m looking for advice on how to handle this situation. I have sent multiple emails and msg to the GM but no response yet. Could someone please help me know how to deal with this?

Currently serving NP in Capgemini but since I have joined this project back in Jan, since then management is torturing me as I confront them for biased situation since starting. But now as I am serving they are torturing in every possible way, giving much work load though others are enjoying. What if I clearly say that I won’t do new work, I will only give KT as I am NP so what could be consequences? Will they mention anything wrong in my experience letter or give me any character certificate? 
Please share your thoughts, really need advice as can’t take torture now :(

I am an ML engineer working in a startup.

My current situation is horrible,I am constantly stressed about getting laid-off(My performance is good,I got promoted a month ago). I came to know that my company will probably lay people off this month,since they are unable to meet targets.

Now,I got rejected in four interviews.
There is a lot to learn and revise.
Stats and probability.
Machine learning algos.
Deep learning architectures(got rejected because I was unable to explain the architecture of a complex model in detail).
DSA(got rejected twice in this round).
SQL (got rejected once since I was unable to solve the SQL problem).
ML ops(some recruiters ask this as well).

With the added pressure of getting laid off,my whole life is turned upside down.I am unable to focus.
Every meeting or discussion I attend I feel like people are evaluating me.( This was not the case before).
I don't know what to do.
It would really help,if you guys share your interview experiences below.
