Feeling guilty about not working on a leave.
Hey folks, I’ve taken few leaves to connect with family and relax but I’m feeling guilty for not working. I see slack and emails being exchanged and that makes me feel I’m not doing enough and it will impact my appraisal. So essentially I’ve taken leaves but unable to enjoy which was the purpose of taking leaves. Does anyone else relate to this? How do y’all cope with this? Any tips?

Honestly- work life balance is very important! At one stage you might have lot of money but what will you do with it if you don’t have a few close friends and relatives with who you can cherish the moments so do not feel guilty when you take off. However do work hard and give your 100% when you are working! Hope that helps

1. Don't install slack or Gmail on mobile . If you still have to install put a lock on the apps .
2. They are your paid leaves don't feel guilty for it .
3. It will not affect your appraisal because you have enough work .
Take a chill pill man/woman.
I am not able to understand one thing - you are feeling guilty because you are insecure or because you are a work-a-holic and must be the top achiever? If you answer this question, I think you will get an answer to your question also.
Hey it shouldn't be this way.
You probably work hard enough on the days you're working, this is "earned" leaves for a reason. Every human needs to spend necessary time on the non-work part of your lives.
If you don't do this right, very soon you'll be unhappy with your life. DO not get there. Learn to focus on the present, and do whatever you're doing with full energy (which at this moment, is spending time with family and relaxing)
Cheers 🥂
Take more time off. You'll get used to it. And if possible, turn off notifications for all these work-related apps. And believe me, if your help or attention is required in even the slightest matter at work, they'll call you despite you being on vacation, sick leave, emergency leave, or whatever. So relax. Enjoy your time. Take as much time off as you need to get used to it.
