I am actively on the lookout for PM roles in E-commerce/Travel OTA/Fintech. I have 3 years of PM exp- worked in private Banks, have good exposure to different BFSI products - from savings accounts, cards, payments to new age tech - Tokenization, Account Aggregators, Product recommendation engine.

I have previously applied with referrals and my applications have very high rates of conversion. Has never worked with Meesho.

Hi All, I'm working as a PM in a private bank. Prior to this I had worked as a Business PM in another bank 😅
My experience is that work expectations, KRAs of bank PMs are not in line with what is standard. Mostly stuck with meaningless work, getting very few conceptual projects. Feel like I am a glorified BA, who receives additional shit shovelling from senior mgmt.
Unable to get in depth experience in any vertical.
Earning 20LPA, experience 2.8 years. 

Need advise should I move out of PM and target Biz roles?

Indian. I am a SDE (backend) currently. ~2 yrs exp. 16 LPA and I work 40-50 hrs a week. I like where I am, but I am not feeling the zeal for tech anymore. Probably will do a MBA down the line (thinking abroad, not sure) 

Looking for equal or greater pay, similar WLB, new domain. Should I switch to PM and try a hand at it?

- Currently serving as a lead product analyst, earning around 15 LPA.

Worked tirelessly to switch roles to a Product Manager position, but was denied by management and received an underwhelming appraisal. As a result, I feel that I'm not earning my true potential and feel devalued by my firm.

4 out of 5 product managers will act all high and mighty of themselves, bragging their way as if they run everything going on in the company, flaunting their business degrees and being utterly disrespectful towards their team( dev design qa name it), 

Recently started going to office so the attitude I am seeing is very transparent and more visible (more with the higher experience folks)

It makes me wanna leave this hyper inflated role, thinking of I will end up like them scares me, and you have to do is speak out jargons in meetings day in day out and have a English accent of Shashi Tharoor.

Recently my manager told that this is a role where you have to very representable or very visible and act in floor as if you are the busiest person on earth and I seriously some PMs in company doing that, they walk so fast in floor as if they will fall off or would be better to have 4 legs.

I am done with this product management shit

This is not a question for the cocky new grad in the overvalued startup, but for the few seasoned PMs that still reply out here.

Where do PMs go after they peak?

By peaking I mean arriving at a GPM or Staff PM position at the top 10-15 companies (you can do your own ranking here).

Nobody has the true statistics but I will use the assumption that 75% (debatable) of those who peak, will get laid off within 2 years from their ‘peak role’. The remaining will be able to progress into DoP and VP in the same top company or another in the top 15.

Where do they go then?

I am pretty positive, from experience, that they don’t go any up.

Do they go down the ladder of new startups for titles and ending up in the worst ones after being laid off 4-5 times? Do they quit all together?

Do they open a farm?

Do they start their own startup?

I am reading very often that the craze around product management is too much and this career is not worth the hype. Adding on to that it has huge supply of PMs and many of PMs are underpaid. Is it true?

Its been 8 months since I have joined my current company. I have previously worked in a B2C PM role. My current company is a data product company and provides services to US companies to send digital and physical notifications to end users. My previous role was much more structured for PM than here. First of all, as business is US based, PM role is more of an order taker. Further, as engineers are experienced, they are not as cooperative as my previous org. Hence, I am in typical PM struggle, responsible for nothing but accountable for everything. Should I build my hard skills like learning sql/analytics or should I work on soft skills like influencing stakeholders etc. 
I have 7 years of experience in program management role and pure 2 years of PM experience.
