Especially in departments like sales where the stress levels are high and the work hours are ungodly.

I was raised abroad and I always thought there’s something called annual leaves where you take PTO for a month apart from your sick / casual leaves. However I started working in India and damn when TF do people have time to do things apart from coming to office and getting burnt out?

Why do Indian companies have fuck all leave policies?

Recently the CHRO of my company called me into a discussion on improving  WORK LIFE BALANCE.  Wow. I just cannot understand. Look at this. 
1. Most companies work 5 days a week. (Except retail operations). So you get 52 weeks x 2. 104 days. 
2. 30 days annual leav
3. 9 days statutory holidays. 
4. Operational holidays. 3. 
145 days of 365 days corporate people don’t come to office. And in a hybrid format even more. 
It is these corporate vultures who want work life Balance. How can u balance your life if u r unable to do it in 145 days. 
So Narayana murthy is right - work hard like 80% of india. Who have almost no weekly off. Just saying.

Monday morning and nobody at office. We have no option but to force strict rules now: 

1. If you arrive any later than 9:55 in office, it will be marked as half day leave. 

2. Lunch breaks are supposed to be max 40 mins long. I accept basic courtesy of following this, if not, I’ll tag people on the group.

So, my boss is an absolutely lovely person, and is the best boss I've had so far. Not to brag, but I'm also the best performer in my team, by a mile. So, while I do get my pats on the back, I'm also rewarded with more and more work. I love, atleast so far, what I do, so I didn't mind taking up more work, because I learnt a lot in the process too, and it helped my hone my craft better.

Cut to now, I'm losing interest in work. Don't feel like taking up any new work, no matter how exciting the brief, or how great its potential.

I feel like I'm burnt out. And majorly demotivated.

What makes it worse is seeing this other member in my team chill the absolute fk out. He's hardly even given any important projects because of what a waste resource he is.

I've also just been promoted. So, I'm not sure if I should share what's on my mind with my boss.

My mind says I shouldn't, but my heart says it should be fine.

What should I do about:
1. Telling or not telling my boss what I'm going through (because I'm scared if it'll come back to bite my later)
2. Me feeling extremely burnt out and demotivated.

No, please dont in my opinion. Are you not taking leave’s? Please take leaves. 
  
 It might be contradictory on what i said but when it comes to bosses, it better not to talk about burning out and demotivated etc.

I've been thinking about how we're always connected to work these days. The line between work and personal time seems to be getting blurrier, with our phones constantly buzzing with work notifications. 

It's becoming a real challenge for many to truly disconnect and maintain a healthy work-life balance. 

I've personally struggled with this - just last week, I found myself answering work emails at on a Saturday, and it made me realize how much it's affecting my downtime.

In an age of constant connectivity, how do you manage work-related communication outside office hours? What boundaries have you or your company set to prevent burnout?

If not leaves, then wfh should be made mandatory for all companies for women 5 days a month. Even leaves should be given atleast 5 extra in a year, for those bad days. What do you think?

Ask any tech bro to work on Saturday and they will start crying about work life balance. FYI most professionals in India work on Saturdays. In India more than 90% folks are self employed. 

Lawyers, accountants, doctors, plumbers, carpenters, business owners all of them work on Saturdays. Your work life balance comes because you enjoy their services on Saturday and Sunday going around spending money and having fun. 

So not working on Saturday is a privilege and not a compulsion. 

On one side we are sad that companies lay us off and on the other side we want work life balance even at the cost of the growth. We despise anyone who creates wealth. 

Chal kya raha hai? Sabko startups mein bhi MNREGA scheme chahiye kya? Have some growth mindset folks. 

With so much work life balance you are just stuck in Manali traffic jam and Krishnagiri toll booth.

Respected Sir/Madam, 
 I am writing in regards to the current environment at our (PhonePe) workplace. I believe that there are several factors that could be addressed to create a better environment for employees, and I would like to bring these issues to your attention. 
 First, Our Top Management Leader Mr XYZ, ABC & STU is mentally harassing employees 
 and intimidation are common occurrences in the workplace. This is in the form of hostile comments, threatening to sack, creating undue pressure. It is creating a detrimental effect on employee morale and productivity. 
 Secondly the work-life balance is often out of balance, with long working hours (8:00 am to 10:00 pm and limited opportunities for relaxation or breaks, it is leading to burnout and stress-related illnesses. It is essential that employees are given reasonable working hours and frequent breaks to ensure their physical and mental wellbeing. 
 Fourth, These managers shout at employees on occasions by calling them on calls and asking random questions and harassing. This type of behavior is not conducive to creating a productive environment within the org. It only serves to create an atmosphere of fear and anxiety among employees. It is important that managers treat employees with respect and professionalism at all times. 
 Lastly, to say - Sales is a continuous process and it fluctuates day on day depending upon good and bad weather, political environment, absentism in team etc but managers above and down the line shout only for numbers without recognition for our hard work. This is leading to burnout and discontentment among employees who feel taken advantage of or undervalued. 
 Furthermore these action have had severe consequences in those leaders personnel family relationships, causing irreparable damage of their own life is trying to damage life of others by ruthless behaviour and poor decisions. 
 Finally I have decided to leave the organisation and I hope this will be taken into consideration when creating a p
