Spread of Billionaires in India. It is truly cool how far ahead Mumbai is. And how near Ahmedabad is to Bangalore.

The present-day golden era of Indian billionaires has produced soaring income inequality in India—now among the highest in the world and starker than in the U.S., Brazil, and South Africa. The gap between India’s rich and poor is now so wide that by some measures, the distribution of income in India was more equitable under British colonial rule than it is now. Since the pandemic begun to Nov 2022, billionaires in India have seen their wealth surge by 121%, or INR 3608 Crore per day in real terms (Around INR 2.5 crore every minute).

1. Good for Mumbai because the city can breathe. 2. Can the cities build a cosmopolitan culture like Mumbai? Will people from Mumbai move? 3. Bad news for Mumbai's economy. 4. Such news is common before the election season. 5. It's all a ploy from the ruling government to prop up Gujarat as the hub of everything.

I was wondering if Uttar Pradesh can be the next Bangalore. It has everything. It has a large population which is decently literate. It has IIT Kanpur, IIT BHU, NIT ALLAHABAD and other deemed universities. It has good connectivity to Delhi with Expressways and Highways. Crime is significantly down. It has the largest Airport coming in India Jewar International Airport. It has cities like Noida which already is an IT hub. I believe cities like Lucknow and Kanpur can be the next hub of investment and employment opportunities in India. They have their own metro projects for city commute and for long distance travel we have RRTS service that is a work in progress. To top it all Alcohol is not banned here unlike Gujarat. I think with the right planning Uttar Pradesh can have several Bangalore-like tech hubs. What are your thoughts on this?

Tired of every fucking thing in this city. Born and brought up in this city. Life was good. However its not the same now. Fucking overpopulation, overcrowding, over expensive rent, food, where are we heading. Public transport is good, lol, try traveling for your 9-5 job. Roads are broken. Traffic is terrible. Monsoon about to worsen things more. A pm wants to conduct a rally in this city, and my 1.5 hours of travel turns out to be of 4.5 fucking hours. Have just watched 2people fall off the local train. Someone has to step in and please do something. Please stop the population from increasing. Please do something.

Question came up because it’s Independence Day 🇮🇳 A lot of us have had the privilege to be able to go abroad, but ended up choosing not to. For me, it was just believing there’s enough growth here in the coming few decades + friends/family Looking to hear if the reduced brain drain is actually true, and what makes people stay.

Alright, Bangalore is the best city in India. It's not just the best, it's in a league of its own compared to other cities. First off, let's talk about the weather. Bangalore's weather is perfect all year round, magical. Unlike heat waves of Delhi and the shit humidity of Mumbai, Bangalore's climate is the best. Who wants to sweat anytime you step out or freeze to death in winters? Not me. Bangalore is where the real innovation happens. Really smart people making this country better. These Delhi Bombay kids caught lacking for real. And the people? Bangalore's got the best of the country. It's cosmopolitan. You've got people from all over the country, and everyone's more educated and progressive. So, let's cut to the chase. Bangalore is the best city, hands down. The rest of India can keep dreaming, but they'll never catch up.

I'll be moving to Mumbai (Andheri East) next month. I'll be earning 80K PM after tax and this is how I'm thinking of dividing my finances. Please give your inputs. Fixed: 1. Rent - 18K (PG) 2. Food - 4K 3. Electricity - 3K (estimating) 4. Travel - 3k (worst scenario, home to office - Rs 100, 3 days a week - 600/week) 5.Groceriess - 2K (Not sure because in a PG but considering it) 6. Internet - 1K 7. Lifestyle/Misc - 10K (I don't party much, most of this will spent in misc and exploring Mumbai etc) Total - 41K Savings - 39K/40K 1. 25K in savings bank account (i need to have this because I'm scared of emergency stuff) 2. 5K MF 3. 5K PPF 4. 4K/5K - sending home Is this good?

Been WFH for 5yrs+, lives in city.. planning to buy/build 10Cr house but I don't want to pay a extra premium for real estate.. so looking for tier 2/3 city which decent school, malls/cinema, shops, restaurants and hospital and cheap land with good connected roads [Best internet, tower, power and water is a must]
