Unified Pension scheme
I'm all fine with Unified Pension Scheme but only problem is why there is no such scheme for private sector employees? Recession and layoffs are frequent, you may be paying lakhs in income tax today but can be jobless next day. Neither your company nor Govt will take care of you. There may be loans, EMI and all, you can't send your kids to Govt schools or use Govt hospitals because of their poor conditions. Basically Govt will take 1/3rd salary in your good days, but let you live on road in bad days. Situation of Pvt Sector employees same Iike Hindus in Bangladesh
@3prcnt_merit_worker it’s true, look what is happening in Afghanistan as well Heard it on Grapevine: https://share.gvine.app/bHjE7HnsS4a8PoJDA

This is an entirely different segue.
NPS is better, UPS is just the government giving lollipop to boomers who don't understand NPS.
NPS is a mutual fund so corpus will continue to increase in the average case unless the economy crashes. Whereas UPS will just give a fixed 50% of basic as pension.
Clearly the government benefits here - they don't lock their own money in a MF while locking an employee's money, they pay out less pension, and they have full control over the amount being paid as they decide the salaries in the first place.
