Why layoff and not transfer internally?
I've come really bizarre cases of companies laying off some division(s) while actively hiring in other division(s). Why do they not transfer some of the to-be laid-off employees to the other divisions?
Why not pay loyal folks more than new hires? Some things will only upset those who ponder
They play with “cost items” on balance sheet. Not saying it’s the best way, but it’s the easiest way. Hire at low, show investors you are cutting, fresh talent possibilities.
Hiring budget >>> retention budget
XO gets bonuses for saving costs by firing folks
HM gets bonuses for hiring more folks
