Association for Software Engineers

So i was actually wondering why there are no association for engineers similar to the auto people. Like employee unions also. If there any layoffs, the association come in and do protests against the companies like auto people doing against the government . Any thoughts on this?

There are labour laws making it illegal to have unions to avoid any rights for employees unlike old India to attract investment (hartals, strike etc) After 2014 win BJP govt even introduced labour codes which would further dilute rights but they chickened out

You know what you are suggesting? Unions! Simple fact. Organised effort always has higher bargaining power ...

Rant on entitlement of Software Engineers
