Diagnosed as borderline depressed
Hi everyone, So in the week, I’m chill in office but on the weekend , I’m completely lonely and I live near airport because office, and I don’t have enough money to afford a vehicle and the whole clothes washing drying takes up the whole Saturday cause living in a pg. I’m on the verge of crying every Saturday night and Sunday and felt like a dead person throughout. Sunday I’m coding cause looking for a job change and parents about to retire. So I’m looking for some trustworthy friends to help me grow and with whom I can be happy with. Would be grateful if someone help me in improving the quality of life. Thanks in advance

I have borderline depression.
My mental health has improved considerably since I started working out(develop a hobby), I usually never went out on weekends (only used to go if drinking was involved), started going to places like Cubbon, try to explore places that are nearby.
Please reach out to a therapist if you don’t want to go on medication.
And please cry, feels good for once, we as men are told “Mard nahi rote”, shatter that stereotype.

One more thing, if you have friends be 100% sure before discussing your issues with them or even giving them hints, even the best of friends will mock you.
Here no one will help.
Take professional help, talk to a therapist or a doctor.
I am speaking from experience and hope you don’t make the same mistakes as me.

Hey buddy,
I can recommend a few things which can help
1. If you don’t like medications, get a therapist. Talking with them will help. They will also share coping mechanisms.
2. Vitamin D3 also helps, please get your levels checked

Therapist might or might not work depending on what case u have.
Depression is also caused by low serotonin(harmones) which can be improved by healthy diet, vitamin B12, vitamin D etc.

Ok I'm working in HYD If you need a study partner my discord id schar28 I am too mostly lonely on sat and Sun but I'm fine with it, this is what I do mostly on weekends learning/reading books/or I paint something. I started running in the morning everyday which is helping me a lot I was kind of calm now.

I went to the doctor and they said I’m borderline depressed, they recommended medication but I wanted to solve it without them, if nothing is found I might have to take those

You can start with some ayurvedic medicines it's gonna take time say 4-6 months to fully get back to urself.

Buy and bi cycle join BBC club and go for rides. Pick a hobby and you will find friends. Quit GV or social media. Be a go getter, stop crying
Quit social media should be underlined here. Half your depression must be coming from subconscious bias against yourself seeing other posts. Use this as a strength and forge your own path. OP you are depressed now, but happiness is not a destination it's a journey, the path you take.

Seems like u need some activities to divert your mind.
If u r concerned about job change I will say join some study group.
I think you have lot of things to do but your mind is telling you it wanna do nothing. Just like down and then giving you some kind of racing thoughts and flashbacks. (Overthinking)

Sharing my own experience, I shared the same on the other post who had same difficult experience.
Bhai, I have gone through this in almost same age. I had strong bond with family. I used to call my parents and chat with sis daily.
I followed below approach to make sure I dont go deep in depression.
1. Follow a hobby/passion. I followed daily workout in a gym. Made some friends there (casual for chitchat)
2. Made sure that I explore Blr/ nearby cities every other weekend.
3. Join CSR groups for any voluntary support , maybe a monthly activity based on their invites.
4. Daily call with parents, telling them about your whereabouts. Also I used to travel to my hometown every 2 months for 7 days atleast.
5. Find places where you can get people from your community state.
6. Avoid binge watching series, its just time waste.
7. Work friends are difficult in Blr, but if you are able to mingle then you will have them for long life.
6. Dating in blr is waste, go a different route. Find someone from your work/ social network like traditional way. Dont go for dating apps.

dont make your job as your personality... take a chill pill at work dont get burdened... i regret overworking at infosys... got nothing in return but a valuable life lesson that you just have to show how important you are, even though in the end nothing really matters much

Watch movies/series that freshen your mood or makes you realise that life is indeed beautiful if explored
Just go to the balcony and listen to music of your taste during sunset time.
Watch sadhguru and sandeep maheshwari if needed, have no shame in watching their videos, it helped me personally
