Got rejected because of personal situations.

Recently, I gave an interview at this early startup in Bangalore. It consisted of 5 rounds.

  • The first four rounds were technical, design, and assignment rounds which went well. I answered all the questions fairly well and the interviewer was happy knowing the answer.

  • The fifth round was with the CEO - Now this was the turning point. He was more concerned about my personal situation. He asked questions like, where I live, where is my hometown, if WFO is okay for me (I was working remotely in my current company ), and where is your dad ( I said he was no more and that turned off the CEO of a company), how will you keep my mother in BLR, why your mom not living with your siblings?. And I was like "WTF man".the only technical question he asked -> "Have you ever hacked a system in your recent days?". 😂😂

After wasting more than 14 hours in the process I received a rejection mail without any feedback.

Message to recruiter - if you are more concerned about the personal situation of the candidate, please conduct a preliminary round for that.

Ayush is a personal friend and inito is definitely not a startup it's been around since 2013 I think. Are you sure that's the right company?

Same case with high radius company. They are more interested in your personal life. They even ask is your wife working? Where she works etc.

Psychotic people I tell you

I received a call from Rapido. The recruiter asked me how will I move to BLR while I’ve mostly worked in Delhi NCR throughout my career, I said my hometown is in Rajasthan and I’m open to relocation.

Second, after 4 years stint at your first company you have hardly spent more than a year in any of the next companies. I explained the reasons (I was laid off from my last org after 7 months).

Then she tells me okay I will share your profile with the team. The hiring manager is on leave today and we’ll get back to you on Monday.

5 min. Later I received a rejection email. I asked the HR on whatsapp for a reason she tells me the panel didn’t select me. The same panel which was on leave 5 min. Ago.

So F**K YOU RAPIDO.

Leaving companies frequently is a big red flag

Even when the product you’re working on is getting defunct and you will eventually be laid off? :/

HRs even asked me about martial status. They think that single people can contribute more to the company. You have dodged a bullet.

This is a very valid criteria for many startups or high stress teams in large companies. Not politically correct but it exists as a checklist with hiring manager

Rant for getting rejected for no reason.

Was under a 3 month long process for an internship position at FAANG level company. Had multiple rounds of interview and breezed through all. Was on the last stage of the interview which was yet to be scheduled and received an email from...
