I have been smoking for more than 10 years, now wanna quit it. i usually smoke 3 cigarettes a day, occasionally exceed it like on weekends but try to keep it in limit but now want to completely quit it. Tried nicotine gums but did not like it and puke many times. Can anyone help me please? share their journey?

Keep trying. I was a smoker for 10 years. Picked the dirty habit from college. For nearly 3 years I was in the zone of trying to quit. I kept trying and then finally was able to fully give it up. I wrote the following points down and hope it may help you.
Note: the only medication that can get you out of the habit is the changes you bring to your own mind. Nothing else will work.
- Don't be afraid to drop the buds. Throw when you are half way through.
- Don't go to the usual smoking places where you go often to light up.
- Until you quit do not hang out with smoking buddies when they smoke.
- The carving to smoke only stays for minutes so control it.
- Divert your attention to other thing when you carve for cigarettes.
- Build self confidence by repeating "you don't want to smoke" in your mind all the time. Your subconscious mind takes care of the rest.
- It usually takes more than 10 attempts for a smoker to quit. So failing is part of the process. Don't be depressed that you are unable to quit in the first few attempts. Keep trying.

Try to be with non smokers more. If you are around smokers, surely you will smoke more. Try to reduce no. of cigs per day then those smoking days too.

You don't quit anything, you just practice to bring the quantity to zero within a stipulated time.
RN, you are doing 3/day, push for 3/7days, then go for 3/month, then you decide whether you wanna smoke or not. Simple, but you need GUTS to achieve this.

Looking for tips to quit smoking. I've tried a lot, I tend to stop smoking for a few days but then again I end up starting it :(
