MAC VS Windows
Why majority SDE , Data engineers , tech guys prefer mac over windows
List your tech reason in detail please , in comment
Planning to switch to mac from windows
It's literal dog shit. I bought an M1, and it's extremely blurry when connected to my 1440p monitor, no matter the cable or port. This was after it took 3 months for them to get it to me. Techs answer was to just buy an Apple monitor, Fuck Apple. Returned that piece of shit and got a Framework.
Was it a 32" 1440p monitor ?
Mac os scaling is for 110 ppi or 220 ppi Eg -If you're using 4k 27" (~163 ppi) , mac os will render the screen to a virtual canvas and scale it down then to your non native resolution .. Resulting in blurry pixels , more gpu use , more memory usage
You just bought a bad monitor with incompatible scaling. MacOS’ immaculate text rendering will make anything else look blurry unless the PPI is same.
Unix base works well with open source, privacy, M1 chips improve compile time
Lol. There's a bazillion bloat shit on Mac you can't get rid off. Like, there's a Chess app on Mac. You can't remove it. Or their Music, Home, and a long list of other useless apps.Nothing like that on Windows. You can uninstall pretty much anything.
Maybe if you do infra work. Everything else is done locally on the machine.
Unix based OS so it's more similar to our Linux deploy targets than Windows is. Also MacOS doesn't come with nearly as much bloated bullshit. Windows literally has candy crush pre installed and ads in the start menu. MacBooks have very premium build quality, they're sturdy and good materials.
