Reality about unlimited PTO/Leaves

What is the reality of these unlimited pto/leave policy that companies have, I'm unaware as i am a fresher. Also which companies offer remote roles and unlimited leaves/PTO in india? do comment if you know or are in one!

With unlimited leaves, employer can wash their hands off something called ‘leave encashment’. Plus, very few managers would agree to give you, say, 2 months of leave.

Was only able to take max 14 leaves/yr when old org had “unlimited” leaves. There was always something to do.

Now I’ve fixed vacation (24), sick/compassionate (12) leaves, and ending up using almost all!
