Not returning joining bonus
Let’s say I leave a company after 2 months. What would happen if I don’t return their joining bonus.
They have a clause in offer letter that says I should return the amount if I leave before a year.
I had a short stint in a company, where I had a not so good experience.
(TL:DR: They had 0 clarity on what they were doing, overhired and asked me to leave 1.5 months later).
I had a fairly decent joining bonus as a part of compensation, which was supposed to be returned if I leave within 1 year.
However they never asked me to return it and also gave me a letter certifying the full and final settlement had been completed (Also transferred salary for the last month I spent there).
I am not sure what to do with my joining bonus? Should I keep it or can they come back one fine day and ask me to return it.
Has this happened to anyone else?
Depends on what's written in your Joining letter.
Keep it man. They didn't feel guilty about layoffs. So don't feel guilty about keeping the bonus.
Put it in a FD for few months just in case they come back asking for it.

How to return the joining bonus? If we leave a company before the mentioned time period in an offer letter? Do they cut from salary ? Or do we have to return explicitly? I joined Accenture a few days back but not liking the project here ...
Today I was asked by Hr to resign, with 60 days notice period. What shall I do to save myself from further exploitation by the firm. Also, if I resign might have to give back my joining bonus as I have completed 11 months
Trying to access what paths typically a company takes when an employee doesn’t return joining bonus after they resign within one year of joining. What are some some worst cases? Can they do a court cases? What happens in those scenarios....
