Too late to apologize?

Did you ever apologize to someone years later when you realized you weren't nice to them when you were younger?

I was just overthinking and I realised that I have been mean to 4 people as far as I can recall, and now karma hit me back and I'm facing a similar situation.

Should I go back to these people and apologize? What if I make them recall things and instead it hurt them even more?

I had talked once to a girl after some years for speaking to her meanly once in 11th. She didn't wanna talk to me.

So, it can backfire, but imo, still do it. There's not many people out there who want to improve on their mistakes, and this won't be considered weak or wrong as long as you are genuine in your feelings

Ohh, you're right it can backfire too. But yes, still we should do it if the intention is right. Thanks for your insights

People usually forget, but if it makes you feel better. You should talk about it to them and apologize if someone was mean to me and they apologised years later I would really appreciate it.

This helps. I'll go and apologize to them in that case. Thanks for your insights

Happened to me in the past. I apologised to her after 8 years. She understood and accepted it.

Man I still hate myself when I remember about the people I've bullied in school and locality. I've been bullied too at some point and it made me realise how much it can impact an individual in negative way while on the surface it looks like it's just for fun and nothing serious

You're right. We don't realise these things as a child. But now that we have understood, we can take actions accordingly! :))

Any apology is meant to mend relationship and heal both the souls (yours) and the person who was hurt. It makes you happy....

I have and it helped. It’s never too late to apologise for something which you know was your mistake. Most of the time it’s our guilt which makes us apologise. However, you have to understand that apologising may not fix the relationship or issue at hand. The person wronged may not even accept your apology but if they do an apology to those involved might help them to heal. So an apology is never too late if it’s honest.

I understand your point. Not sure if the person would accept my apology, but if there is a chance that I could help them heal, I would def wanna do that. Thanks for your insights.

Actions have consequences, so the best thing is to not create a negative karmic relation which will create problems for you in future. You can apologise, but do it with a realization - he/she may or may not accept your apology, but whatever happens you will be content with the feeling that you tried to streamline things
