How to have a good weekend?
I wait all week for weekend, then realize I just didn't have enough fun on the weekend. What makes a good weekend? How can I make sure that this Monday I go to office feeling like I had a nice weekend. Give suggestions please š
Have a bad week. Your weekend will look better. Your brain thinks in comparatives.
All suggestions below are ideas. Many more are possible (just ask ChatGPT š)
Essentially, fun is subjective to what you feel like doing.
For introvert - Read a book. Sketch/draw/scribble. Listen to music you enjoy. Go on a solo trip. Go to gym. Try cooking based on online videos. Clean. Take photos
For extrovert - Check bookmyshow or equivalent for events. Go to a pub/non professional meet up/non professional workshop. Organize a house party. Go on a group trip (those group travels with strangers). Go to gym. Dine out. Take photos
For singles (no family nearby) - Hang out at a friend you're close to. Or maybe go out for food together. Call somebody - an old friend, an older acquaintance, a relative, your parents. Go on a date. Or just have sex (as someone suggested but don't cheat). Take photos
For ones with family - Go out for an activity all of you enjoy. Play games together. Cook together. Take photos. Clean together. House chores together. Sit and talk.
If you're still somehow feeling excluded - Watch a movie in a hall. Look up at the sky and see if you can find shapes in the clouds (if cloudy)/dance in rain (if raining)/go for a picnic (if sunny). Call someone you haven't spoken to in a while. Go hunting for second hand goods/flea markets. Sleep.
Lastly, plan your big thing to do next weekend (which can't be done impromptu)
I forgot to mention it for ones with family (and to do it with their partners only)

Unpopular opinion.
One of the primary feelings I have had is that weekends are short.
Changed that by waking up early / on time on weekends so that I have a good whole day ahead of me.
Some of the things Iād encourage to do -
1. Taking an early morning walk in the park / nearby lake
2. Going on some easy treks around Bangalore
3. If you drive / ride a bike, driving down to Mysore and Ranganathittu to see the birds - itās migratory season now if Iām not mistaken. I havenāt tried this but want to go.
4. Watching a highly recommended series / documentary / movie at home
5. Reading a highly recommended book
6. Working out at peace - hitting a personal record
7. Playing badminton / pickle ball with friends / colleagues
8. Meeting friends and exploring a new eat out
9. Sleeping on time and for 8-9 hours
10. Play board games
11. Go on dates
12. Travel to new places
You have to do things that make you feel good. Things that are different and new once in a while. Good memories get formed when you do different things.
For me learning new things makes me feel damn good - whether itās about a new place, a new perspective (comes from meeting different people), discovering my physical and mental limits. These are not possible every weekend, but every other weekend, trying one of the above makes me feel good about time well spent.
Sharing what works for me, after having tried different things for ~1.5 years.
- go to bed early on Friday, avoid alcohol.
- Saturday for physical relaxation: have a sport or hobby that you really love and go early morning to play, could be badminton, swim, football, running or anything you enjoy.
Having done this you'll feel really great, read something, watch those videos you've been putting in watch later, cook something, and in general sleep if you like.
- Sunday: mental relaxation, throw your phone away, read a book, play board games, work on your hobbies, watch in house or go for a movie.
p.s. might not be something that everyone likes, just sharing what I prefer, not saying this is better compared to other suggestions in thread.
PwC? Do you even get weekends, bruh? Those are extended weekdays.
Read a book, get a massage
Apply a face mask on your face, lie down for 30 mins on bed, relax
Sip on some nice wine.
What are your expectations for what counts as a fun enough weekend? If youre brain is caught up in how to have more fun, thats counterproductive to actually having fun. Iāve been there. To actually have fun, you have to be in the moment. Try to find the joy in each moment as it is. I promise theres a lot of fun in the simplest of life.
Once you do that, desires will emerge organically instead of from internal pressure to be having some expected amount of fun. Follow those desires. And fun will grow.
This question roots from āweekend enjoy karne ka bahot pressure haiā thanks to social media. If not, spend time in getting to know urself better to get the right answer. Go back to childhood if needed

That's all
Do something that you like or something that you are afraid of doing the most, both will give the satisfaction.
Below are the things I usually do on the weekends.
1. Go on a photowalk or make a timelapse.
2. Do an ass kicking leg workout on the Saturday morning.
3. Go on a nearby small trek or hike.
4. Video call my parents.
5. Arrange my room.
6. Hangout with friends.
7. Go on a date.
8. Learn something new in my domain.
9. Prepare for an interview.
10. Sleep well.
11. Explore new places.

Any many more things. I would say just explore on weekends or give yourself some rest so that you wouldn't be burned out for the upcoming week.
Happy weekend š
