 About your loneliness, i have gone through this. Try to join any training course, then join any gym, join any club if you are into it. 
 Go solo to some places and hit on someone just casually and act as if you don’t know anyone in city. Since you will be solo, nobody will be that bothered by your approach

I work as a data scientist in a remote setting. I meet my team once a quarter. Here in Bangalore all my friends and my wife have work from office so I end up getting too lonely working from home. Also, this has shrinked my network compared to before. How are others in the city handling this? What forums, IRL places do you visit to counter this. Imho, This surely isn't great for long term career prospects.

I am doing work from home from last 2 year and it's pretty good

but my entire friend circle has moved to their office location delhi, blr aur Bombay and my college friends also got split into different cities

Sure, we catch up during occasional visits or hometown hangouts and trips, but most days, it's just me, myself, and my laptop. I've tried moving to Bangalore and stayed couple of months, but traffic take lot of time to just meet  friends and people are mostly into over work and then just drinking and smoking and don't want to talk about flats, transport and other problem

so whoever doing work from home from their hometown, how do you deal with this

my hometown is tier 3 city and routine is kind of wake up, coding, gym, movies or anime or leetcode and sleep

I have been on a permanent wfh role since covid. Yes, been 2+ years since I stepped into an office. I stay alone and have little expenses but also 0 social life. Friends are all spread out. Not on any dating app because its exhausting. Can someone just talk about any impacts on their personal life from work life? Does anyone here feel a void too? I’d love to connect.

I have been working remotely and honestly, I don't want to go to office ever (at least that's what I feel right now) 
  
 I don't want to become besties with my coworkers, and I stay with family so I'm very happy spending all my time with my favourite people in the world! I also have the option of traveling and have decided to take an out of Delhi trip every 2 months at least 
  
 I might be biased, because my parents and immediate family are professionals as well and have home offices, so all my life, I've had the kind of atmosphere where offices don't play a huge role, so I'm happy! 
  
 But yes, I suppose I do get the socialising aspect, it becomes harder to make friends as one grows older, especially when all your school/college friends have office jobs 🙃🙃

I was in a remote job from 2020, until last year where I was laid off in November. Then when I started searching for new companies my priority was to work on site, but again I got a remote job.
My problem is living in the house 24*7 make it dull after sometimes and you forgot the line between personal life and work life. All I did was waking up in the bed and then opening laptop and vice versa in the night. Plus you don't have social interaction. Now I have become an introvert living in my own room and it takes enormous energy to go out and meet people. Is remote job really worth it wasting my 20's sitting in the home ?

So today I gave my final exam of my engineering and within a blink the journey of 4 amazing years came to an end. It feels like it was just yesterday when I took admission in college. 

Now I am doing an wfh internship and I am feeling like I will be lonely, since I don't have any friends apart from college (which I am pretty sure there are less chances of meeting as I had lot of friend but I was close to none🙂). Earlier I used to go to college and I was kinda a known personality, but now as it is ended so no more going to college and thought of working from home all day is making me anxious and depressed. So want advice from you guys about what should I do, how did you tackled this phase? I know I might sound cringe and sorry for that, but I am writing this just for help and advice.

I got a remote job and planning to shift to tier 4 city. Major reason is to be with family and have slow pace life. The small town has good enough infrastructure including good internet and road connectivity.

After working remotely as an Intern, I cracked a SDE role and moved to this new city. I feel homesickness now. I feel like running away from every single thing here. Everything reminds me of my family. I don't have much work experience but I'm trying to continue to work here and looking to crack another role in SDE but remote.

I don't know, I feel lost. This city is costly and spending so much in the initial month just to settle down was overwhelming and traumatizing.

So bit of context here. I am a 25 year old Male. Moved to bangalore after 2 years of wfh. Stayed there for a year. Got fed up of my job and toxic workplace tendencies so wanted to resign. Dad had been doing a startup for a bit and he felt I was ready to be useful so he asked me to come. I felt it would good for my career so I moved back. 6 months in I feel mentally drained, and all my limited excitement I feel in life are for the small trips I manage to do where I meet some of my college friends/girlfriend. I had read takes online from people that if I had a chance I would leave everything and be at home with parents, but I just dont feel this way. I love my parents a lot but I just dont feel too much anymore. I dont feel like oh I am so lucky I get to spend so much time with my mother. All of my childhood friends from my city have moved to the US. I have 2 friends(not very close but decent) who I meet sometimes, so life is all about waking up, going to office, coming home and calling my long distance girlfriend (who was with me in Bangalore) and falling asleep with 2/3 hours here and there. I rarely have plans. I feel like I am doing something wrong but I cant pinpoint what. How can I passionately want to spend more time with my parents? I just don’t get it from within. Do I really have to work and find new close friends in the city. People at work keep a bit of distance because my dad is the founder. Anyone with any advice?

21M working from home as a SDE. I do live with my parents in a tier 3 city. Most of my time is just spent working on my desk. This is just depressing as I don't have many friends to hangout and even those I have are busy in their own life. I make good and can easily afford to go and live in a tier 1 city but will that be a good option leaving my parents and knowing most of my time would be spent indoors. What would you do if you were in my shoes.

Hi guys, I just graduated and started working. My office doesn't really have an in-office work culture, so I usually go to the office once in a while. The rest of the days I work from home.
I live at home, and I agree that staying with your family brings in a lot of comfort. But the place where I live is a small town. I don't have friends here, and my social life has become almost zero.
I feel like I have no one to talk to, my college friends on the other hand have moved to metro cities for their jobs, living with their friends. I see them enjoying every weekend which makes me feel bad as I don't have any friends here.
Even my college friends have stopped talking to me. At times, I feel very lonely and sad. I have also been seeing a therapist for a while now.
Could someone please help me with any advice/suggestions. I'm in dire need of advice/ perspective and have no one to talk to.

Holi hai? Diwali hai? So what, nothing to enjoy. Lets spend the day laying on the bed, watching stuff over phone. Feeling less and less disconnected with friends, to the point where I feel I don't even have friends. College friends are based in another city. Didn't even try to make friends at workplace. Stuck alone in my homecity as past 6 years I was based somewhere else completing my grad and preparing for jee. Prior to that focused a lot on studies. So had little to no interaction with people during academics. And now when I have time and money to spend, there is noone with whom I can have fun with.

Moved to a city from a Village. I felt the same. The reason is that cities are culturally and morally bankrupt.  Except mindless consumerism and inflated egos , cities teach you nothing. 
 The longer one lives in cities, people just become animals in fine clothes.
