How motivated are you for work?

When I was job hunting a few months back, I told the head hunter that a couple of companies she proposed was not something I believed in, in the nicest way possible. Maybe a dick move, idk. She told me it’ll be impossible for me to find a job in this market if this was my attitude. After that, a month later, she ghosted me when I asked her if she has any leads. I spoke to a few friends and they said it’s a good thing to want to truly believe in what the company does and few told me it didn’t matter. To me it does, because I have always worked in very early startups and I see my time also as an investment. And not to mention, early stage startups are tedious to work in. You lose your motivation if you don’t feel like you’re contributing to a great extent in multiple areas. What’s your take on it? Is it alright as long as you get the money in your account?

What keeps you motivated to grind leetcode or random design question every day/week? Tried multiple times and given up 😔 YOE - 10

How is your work ethic? Are you all constantly on the toes ? Are you proactive, inquisitive, disciplined, do detailed research and complete tasks on time? I have been mostly working as individual contributor in very small team 1-2 person. So I have no reference for how am I doing. At time I feel guilty and anxiety when I am doing less work. I don't have references of other colleagues

CTC 11LPA 3YOE Java developer, Fintech industry Graduated in electronics & communication engineering Fortune ~250 company product based I like my work, sort of a workaholic and kind of an over achiever (not trying to show off or be a narcissist). My boss literally told me to get an offer elsewhere and he will match it, he got me a promotion and a 40% hike. But I hardly find the motivation to search for jobs. I'm a good problem solver, but I find the whole interview and selection process in the IT industry very systematic.. they test on concepts which hardly get used at work on the ground level. If i grind for a couple of interviews I would certainly get a good offer and get retained at my company, but I don't find the motivation to job hunt and prepare for interviews. I participate in all my company's innovation initiatives and hackathons. Won a couple of them. I love sharing knowledge, and I don't limit myself to any role, I can work as a Product owner, tester, dev, support engineer, and often contribute to a lot of forums within my company. I'm not that into money. Everyone I say this too tells me to give my money to them if I don't want it. Lol. So I'm convinced that I'm not being practical.. Is something wrong with me? I agree that I deserve more, but should I do something about it? I also suppose that I'm in a sort of a comfort zone which is preventing me from preparing for interviews. Currently the company work at, isn't doing good. We have had a lot of layoffs and the people that are left are either trying to switch jobs or are stuck due to external factors. There has been little to no communication from our management and we have no idea about the future of the company. How to motivate yourself to work in this situation?

How can I stay motivated at work when I'm doing the same tasks every day in the office?

I’m stuck in mediocre paying job as a Backend Engineer from past 1.5 years. I want to switch but I can’t. I’m unable to came out of comfort zone. Can anyone suggest some good strategies to stay motivated and focused on your job search despite the challenges.

I have around decade of work in IT sector, have decent pay but can't seem to like my work anymore. Is it because - of fully remote work? No outside interaction - I'm in the wrong career. No passion for domain - this is natural? Happens to everyone - I need a break ? Burnout How do you guys keep your motivation level up?

Thanks to social media, my attention span has new lows. Working remotely is making me inactive and end up spending tooo much time on scrolling. Not able to continuously work for even one hour without checking the phone. Anyone in a similar situation and how are you trying to get better?
